BSOD in both high stress and low stress situation. Stop code: 0x101
Hi all,
I've been getting BSOD and freezes a lot more frequently now. It can either happen when I'm play a game like Shadow of Mordor or Diablo III or when I'm doing homework with Pandora or a YouTube video playing. The screen will freeze and then a buzzing noise will come through my speaker or headphones. The BSOD stopcode I seem to always get is 0x00000101. All my drivers should be up to date except my BIOS driver since it crashes when I tried to update so I just reinstalled the BIOS from a backup BIOS with a jumper. I considered just buying a new CPU, motherboard, and a proper internal hard drive 3.5".
Things I've tried:
- Ran prime95 for around 30 minutes, temps reach around 80 Celsius.
- Ran MSI Kombuster for around 30 minutes, temp reach around 80-85 Celsius.
- Ran Intel's Processor Diagnostic tool with a passing test.
- Ran Memtest once per RAM stick overnight with no errors.
- Updated Sound drivers and a clean updated nvidia drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller.
- Upgraded my power supply to a more reliable Corsair 850 watt.
- Ran a chkdsk /f
- CrystalDiskInfo says both my SSD and HDD is in good condition
- Ran Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware scans
My specs:
- Intel i5 4570(Non K-edition) with stock CPU cooler
- AsRock H87 Fatal1ty Performance motherboard
- EVGA nVidia Geforce GTX 760 2GB
- Corsair HX850
- Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB)
- Asus PCE-AC68 netowrk adapter
- Kingston SSD V300 series 120GB
- Toshiba MQ01ABD100 2.5" 1TB hard drive (originally a external hard drive)
thank you,
David H.
