Bsod during ie8 mainly youtube - system sevice exception

Hi All

Recently upgraded pro win 7 pro 64x using most of my existing set up only subbing in a q6700 and Samsung ssd. All drivers are up to date and I am not using any 3rd party virus, only the win essentials and malware bytes recommended on the forum. I am suffering for intermittent bsods with watching YouTube videos specifically - all will list system service exception with a number of different processes to blame.
I have been trying to resolve this by using the great suggestions here on the forum but I have now come to a dead end.

Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

AS

Do a clean install of the display driver. First uninstall it using Display Driver Uninstaller. then install of a fresh downloaded copy of nvidia 340.52 WHQL. Follow NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems to have a trouble free driver installation.

Also, test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to+ Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Let us know the results.

Hi Arc

Thanks for looking at this, I really appreciate it!, I've followed your guidance re drivers and my memory reports no errors via memtest. I have only encountered only one bsod so far when on youtube is was a driver pageable / non pageable. Do you think it was a one off or a different problem all together?

Regards

Code:
BugCheck D3, {fffff88004075d70, 2, 0, fffff80002cd966b}

Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KiSearchForNewThread+26b )

Followup: MachineOwner
---------
The bugcheck code indicates it to be a device driver related issue, but nothing more is there.

In the raw stack this entry is looping .....
i8042prt!_NULL_IMPORT_DESCRIPTOR+0x80
i8042prt! ?? ::PBOPGDP::`string'+0x10
i8042prt!_NULL_IMPORT_DESCRIPTOR+0x80
i8042prt is the PS/2 controller .... so something is there with the PS/2 keyboard or mouse (probably the keyboard is PS/2 and the mouse is USB? then the mouse is out of suspects list.). Can you apply any other keyboard/mouse as a test basis?

The BIOS (as well as the computer) is too old, but still there is a possibility of an update. Look at here: http://abit.ws/page/en/download/down...ET_TYPE=LGA775 ..... the second one of the list is your installed BIOS. So you may plan to upgrade it to the top one.

Have swapped out the PS2 for a usb keyboard and the system have been fine until now, dxdiag has caused a bsod on youtube once again. I take your point that mine is a old machine but I'am sure that it has some more to give

Your advice once again you me much appreciated...

It is bad to see display is failing even with 340.52 WHQL installed. It is the best stable driver lately released by nvidia within an year.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us.

Also, is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Nothing is there that can cause a display failure BSOD.

Disable Hardware Acceleration in browser. Open a video in YouTube. When it is started, right click on the screen and choose "settings"

In the resulting window, uncheck the option for hardware acceleration, and then close the window.

Let us know the result.

Another clueless BSOD there. I want to suggest you to have a look at this page:
Download Internet Explorer 8 from Official Microsoft Download Center
You are not supposed to use IE8, whereas you can use IE11.
Attachment 339395
One more thing. Post a report following Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instructions . Most probably you are using the default product key for windows 7 professional.
