Damn shame Blue I have a tester machine here with an Intel 9650 4GB RAM and it works good with 7 - 64bit suppose the budget cannot run to a board that will take the CPU as they do not come cheap. I priced a replacement for mine an it was more than some of the current Intel i7's. Maybe a scratch through Ebay might throw up something - though you are taking a risk eh?
But out here is what is on offer you would need to check the specs of course but the prices are not that bad

I was able to update the vista 64bit chipset driver using compatability mode for vista.

I'll watch the machine for a couple days and try to do some testing maybe it did something maybe it didn't.

I dont think updating the chipset worked, it BSOD 2 hours after I installed it.

Also I was watching it install and it never mentioned anything about usb1 and usb2.

Oh well looks like a similar board Blue if you find one and it isn't the same Microsoft are pretty understanding about letting you use it again

I guess I'll chalk it up to a bummed motherboard usb port. I've decided to use my other computer for the time being which is pretty much the same rig just this one works fine.

Gives me a chance to get with the times anyways. Time to get me a new motherboard and an i7 or an AMD six core. I'll salvage what I can from the project computer and start over.

Thanks for all your help guys I really appreciate it. I'm gonna mark the thread as solved.
