Which file did you download? You want the second one down in the list.

Yupp I downloaded the second file from the top. Anyways I sourced for another download and managed to install the network adapter. Checked on Device Manager and it is updated.

As of now my laptop has not crashed yet but is there a way to test if the update was helpful to prevent further BSOD of the same nature?

Yes, give it a time. If it BSODs again within a week, let us know.
