    No, I removed Avast a long time ago as I felt it wasn't doing its job. It had an issue shutting itself down again last night and it wouldn't go to sleep either.

    Panda...Also, yes, all updates are downloaded and finished. Although, there were some updates to install with the Windows 8.1 Update, and I am not sure they are all installed. Is that a problem? Do I need to install them?

    You can check to see what is Installed through Programs and Features / View Installed Updates .. No reboots just would not shut down or sleep ?...

    Do not think it would help any how .... Open CMD copy the following text then right click and paste into CMD and press enter powercfg -devicequery wake_armed

    Unfortunately, I don't see any of those updates installed. Does this mean that I will have to remove the Windows 8.1 Update, and install those updates before the 8.1 update?
