BSOD in the night during MBAM scan

At least according to the Windows dialogue following boot. I thought they only happened to... other people...

The screen was off and wouldn't show the BSOD upon being turned on. First one I've had in a while! All that the computer was doing was running an MBAM scan, per the title. DM log attached.

Possible cause

I've looked into this myself with BlueScreenViewer.

111814-18142-01.dmp 2014-11-18 03:18:00 SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED 0x0000007e ffffffff`c0000005 fffff880`01019d6e fffff880`09edc908 fffff880`09edc160 volsnap.sys volsnap.sys+19d6e Volume Shadow Copy Driver Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Microsoft Corporation 6.1.7600.16385 (win7_rtm.090713-1255) x64 ntoskrnl.exe+75bc0 C:\Windows\Minidump\111814-18142-01.dmp 12 15 7601 303,588 2014-11-18 06:31:39

If volsnap's the issue, I wonder if it might be the fact that my SSD (boot) only has 8 GB of free space left.

EDIT: I've remedied that issue by eliminating my ~30 GB of shadow copies and setting their 50 GB of reserved disk space... down some. Don't ask me why it was that high. I guess I'm in watchful waiting mode provided that my assumption that low disk space is the cause is correct. Any assurance/correction to that end is appreciated. System File Checker and chkdsk both came back clean.

I think you will find that Windows 7 works poorly with less than 10% free space.
My system are kept at least 20% free space or more.

I keep restore points at 5%

Windows 7 needs wiggle room to do things.
Hibernation will take up a lot of space so I turn it off. Computers today boot so fast I really don't see a need for it.

Thanks for the reply. I've never used hibernation and have always had it off. Now I'm at 35% free space. I had no idea that cramped disks could cause BSODs; good thing I didn't spring for a 60 GB drive!
