Computer Shuts off while using Internet Browser.

My computer shuts off while I use any Internet Browser for more than 5 minutes. No BSOD, it just says computer has shut off and it shows Start in Safe Mode or Launch Windows Normally.

hello, cow8duck. I'll try to help you if I can. You have no dump files, which is what we used to debug a system. If you would, please make sure your computer is set to create Small Memory dumps,
Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

I would also suggest you look at all of your case wiring and make sure all plugs are inserted completely on both ends. Also check and make sure there is no frayed wiring. Just a shut off sounds more like a short or PSU issue. Could you go into your bios and give me the readings for the +12V, +5V and +3.3V?

Also, when you built the computer are you sure all the standoffs are secured and there are no extra standoffs where there are no holes in the board? What computer case do you have and how long ago did you build the computer and when did this start?

Sorry for all of the questions, but it is all pertinent to your problem. It is just a matter of determining what the issue is.

I set it to make small dump files. The +12 is at 12.232 the +5 is at 4.998 and the 3.3+ is at 3.376. There is just one standoff that is not screwed down because there isn't a slot in the case which is closest to the SATA ports. I built the computer a few months ago and have been having the problem since I built it. I thought it was the PSU so I bought a new one a few days ago. The case is a Supercase TX-606.

No dump files. Please make sure you are properly configured for small memory dumps, I know you said you did, but make sure they are still set that way. Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD also make sure you have a folder in C:/Windows named Minidump. If you do not, please create one. Your page should look like this.

It is still set to do small dump files. There was no minidump folder so I made and set the minidumps to go there. Got computer to crash but there were no files in the minidump folder.

I'm really at a loss of what to tell you. If you set it up right, it really should work. Have you reduced your virtual memory? That's the only thing I can think of.

I do not understand this from post #3.

There is just one standoff that is not screwed down because there isn't a slot in the case which is closest to the SATA ports.
Could you possibly explain it a little better?

    Example:

If their are 9 holes in the motherboard for hold down screws is the 9 stand off and only 9 stand off that line up with those 9 holes in the motherboard.

If their are 9 holes in the motherboard their must not be more than 9 stand off's under the motherboard.

After checking your settings as essenbe has suggested make sure you don't use and cleanup tools what so ever. They can remove your mini dumps.

Are you sure you only have problems while using a internet browser?
If so what browser are you using?

There's a picture of the motherboard showing the standoffs. In the top right there is one spot with no screw because the case doesn't have a slot for the standoff to go. I haven't used any cleanup tools. the computer shuts down while using Internet explorer or Google Chrome.

I have no idea why it is not making dump files. Please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.
