WIndows 7 64bit BSOD 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005,
Happens at night after I've left the computer on, and turned my monitors off. My power settings are all "high performance" so there is no sleep, suspend usb, etc etc.
Seems to happen after a few to several hours of idle time. It's the same error code always, but does not cite the faulty driver. However Blue Screen Viewer says it is atikmdag.sys and dxgkrnl.sys.
I've tried the hot fixes suggested on MS forums, they all say update does not apply to my computer.
i seem to have fine performance during games i can play for hours with stability, chkdsk is also fine, no issues.
Any suggestions. I'd thought about doing this: How to Repair a Faulty Windows Installation Without Reformatting | Maximum PC
But I'm not sure if that can work since I created my own custom windows install with slipstreamed SP1, and several updates.
The system logs are fairly uninformative. A few random SideBySide errors, but nothing really happens leading up to the bugcheck.
All my drivers and updates are all up to date. Including video drivers (just came out two days ago, which does correspond to the beginning of the problem). However i am getting better performance in games so I'd like to keep the new video drivers. 14.12 Omega.
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with AMD drivers no longer being WMD framework certified?
Any thought are appreciated. THanks.
