    BSOD While Computer Sleeps

Hello. I hope I am posting this right. My system specs are updated. I noticed this problem about a week ago. Every now and then when I wake my laptop up from sleep it is shut down. I press the power on button and I get the "windows did not shut down properly" and when I click on details of the error it says Blue Screen. The computer runs fine during usage and this doesn't happen every time. It typically occurs after being asleep overnight. (I don't want to get up in the morning either sometimes!) Anyway, any help would be appreciated. I uninstalled Symantec and Adaware and installed the Microsoft Security Essentials as was recommended on another thread. One change that recently occurred was I downloaded AVG Tune-Up Diagnostics. I'm not sure if that would cause the issue or not. Thank you!

    Welcome to 7F.

I am wary of "Tune Up"programs - the only one I trust is CCleaner - have you uninstalled AVG to see if that made a difference?

Do you have any programs installed that might be updating in the small hours? If your system ran an update that required a restart and the boot did not complete, that might explain your issue. Assuming you have scanned for any viruses that might be using your system overnight, check your power settings.

Try turning the screen off, but leaving the computer running, and see if that makes a difference. You could also just turn it off at night.
