No crashes since Friday evening, no proof yet but I'm hopeful.
When putting the 7600GS back in I booted into safe mode to install the Nvidia drivers to avoid Windows from installing the standard drivers. So far it looks like that did the trick. I'll wait a week or so to see how it goes.

Hi just wanted to let you know I haven't had any crashed in a weeks now.
I had no freezes after reinstalling the GPU drivers and adjusting the energy management to High Performance like Antman suggested. After a day or so I reverted the energy settings to the default settings just to see if it changed anything and it did, I had a freeze not long after. After setting the energy mode back to High performance the system is perfectly stable now. So it's either that or some Windows Update that installed itself automatically did the trick.

Anyway for everybody having similar issues: try setting the Energy Management setting to High performance.

I believe that the problem is only because of the ab9 pro. That mb never "liked" power savings.
