BSODs playing World of Warcraft, using Chrome, and while in sleep mode

    Hello,

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions. I've been getting hard crashes on my desktop while playing games, browsing the Internet via Chrome, and while away from the computer for the past couple days. In all cases, one program starts hanging, then everything starts hanging, then BSOD. In the case of Chrome, the message "waiting for cache" pops up, but clearing the cache didn't seem to help, and the problem has also occurred when Chrome wasn't running.

I put the machine together myself a few years ago, and other than needing to replace the thermal paste on the CPU a year back, haven't had any problems until now. I haven't added hardware, and the only recent software changes I'm aware of are a couple of games I got through steam that I have yet to run.

Action Center hasn't suggested any fixes. sfc /scannow didn't reveal any issues. Any thoughts or suggestions? I've attached the .zip created by the suggested diagnostic.

    Sincerely,
    tantix

Thanks so much essenbe! The firmware was not up to date, but now is, and so far I've been running things for about 2 hours without a problem. Hopefully that's it -- I'll mark as resolved if I don't have any more crashes in the next day or two. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you guys do.

    cheers,
    tantix

tantix, you're welcome for any help I have given. I hope your good luck continues. If it does not, please post here and don't start a new thread. I hope it was the Firmware update. Good work, and hang around. You will be amazed at the stuff you can learn here.
