BSOD while I was away from the computer, BCCode:c5
As title says, my laptop randomly crashed while I was away for less than a minute.
I leave my computer on most nights, and I have noticed at least once in the past week that it seemed to have rebooted when I came back to it. That might have been a windows update, because there was no error about a BSOD when I came back to it. But I have recently cleaned my computer and I don't have any viruses, so it shouldn't be that.
Here's the pertinent information:
BCCode: c5
BCP1: 0000000000000008
BCP2: 0000000000000002
BCP3: 0000000000000000
BCP4: FFFFF800031C4A9B
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 256_1
I have googled and seen some posts about drivers and other things, but nothing that seemed concrete for me. One factor that might be related, though, is my USB mouse. I've had it for over two years, so it's definitely a little worn. If the wire is pulled/bent with a certain angle and enough pressure, it can turn the mouse off until loosened or straightened. While this has not happened anytime recently, my mouse HAS randomly caused the system to lag indefinitely, which at first I did not know what to do about, but later I unplugged the USB and it responded again. So these errors almost never happen, but as of now, my mouse is my only clue.
I don't know if this C5 error can be related to a faulty mouse, but hopefully this information helps.
Let me know if you need more information.
