BSOD at start windows - cpu author of crime

history: cpu working 3,5 years on 46 multiplier (4,6Ghz). all fine, auto vcore, but with monitoring vcore and temperature by AIDA and core temp (~80 C maximum, and only in summer). (2600k i7).
yesterday i was trying multiplier up to 48, and update firmware of bios to 2303 (asus p8p67)
start render in after effects. After few hours - BSOD.
Quote:
0x124 The system encountered an uncorrectable hardware error
after rebooting - bsod at starting win7. Same code of bsod. In 95% attempts - same problem.Sometimes there was the other code:
Quote:
0x09c machine check exception
But sometimes(~5%) - windows was starting good, but after few minutes - same bsod.

I`m reset bios settings, take out battery from motherboard, experiments with settings - bsod. manual voltages, - bsod. reintstall windows - bsod on any progress.

Why exactly this situation was caused by CPU? I have the other pc - cpu and motherboard are the same (firmware version is the same too). I was changing hardware step by step. And found author of bsod – cpu, after installing him on second pc - and bsod was there. And cpu from second to first pc – was working.

After many experiments and tests – I launched windows with the next settings in bios:
hyper-threading - off
turbo boost - off
c1e, and other energysaver - off
spread spectrum - off
only one core at work
3500 Mhz
auto vcore (~1.18 from core temp)
manual secondary voltages:
VCCSA 0.925 V
VCCIO 1.050 V
CPU PLL auto
dimm - 1.5 V

With this settings system is stable, after this post I will try other (most powerful, and add more cores) settings.
and now i have minidump, and other files from FAQ for bsod (in attach)

how to fix this problem?

============
little update - now working at 4 cores and HT. but loading often not stable...

Hi matuzalem.

It appears that you know your staff. So I will not try to say anything overhead to you. Have you done a stress test to the CPU? If not, take it.

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
It saves the result as a .txt file in the prime95's folder. Upload the file for us.

Also, set the CPU clocks to stock and see how it goes.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark, too.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.
eXtreme Power Supply Calculator - The most trusted PSU Wattage Calculator
Let us know the wattage of the PUS, too.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Let us know the results.

Windows 7 user/owner vs author
Is there a way to permanently change the default 'author"?? I often post files to the web and dont really want my personal name there. In hindsight, I should have created profiles for Dad, Mom, RJ, etc, and never used 'conveninent' family member names for user profiles like (for example) :...

Have to LOVE the author of THIS piece of code (Uif to ISO !!)
Hi there I'm trying to convert a UIF file (why people use this anymore is beyond me -- closed usage of supposedly OPEN formats is not a good idea -- even APPLE don't do that) to a standard ISO so it can be burned / mounted / read via standard software. I LOV E the comment the author of this...

Software to author DVDs
Some time ago I posted a thread about software to compile DVDs. It was suggested back then that I try DVDFlick. I typically grab a movie, watch it from my hard disk and burn it to DVD and put it away. More often, I use DVD for compiling a season's worth of a serial, like two and a half men for...
