BSOD while idle overnight

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone can help. I've been experiencing random freezes, lockups and BSODs mostly when I come to the PC in the morning after I wake. Sometimes freezes happen while playing online games such as BF4, Minecraft, etc...

This report is when I noticed a BSOD in the morning after PC was idle overnight not doing much.

I also have port 25565 open for a private Minecraft server running on a linux virtualbox.

There is only one crash dump in the zip.

The driver is stable enough, so not suggesting to alter it ATM, do some other tests first.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us.

Stress test the CPU.
Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
It saves the result as a .txt file in the prime95's folder. Upload the file for us.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.
eXtreme Power Supply Calculator - The only power supply calculator trusted by PSU manufacturers and computer enthusiasts
Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Also, if any hardware component is overclocked, set it back to default.

Let us know the results, also let us know for any further BSOD.

No freezes or BSOD since post. Did the things you mentioned:

http://speccy.piriform.com/results/e...GYXGWOQvDwFmBR
Power supply is more than sufficient; 650w

I found that I need to load EVGA Precision for fan and lower the GPU and MEM clocks by -10 MHz according to a thread I've read in the past. This helps I think stopping BF4 from randomly crashing as the EVGA GTX 680 card I have is factory OC'd and heard it doesn't sit well with BF4. But this is another case when BF4 isn't loaded.

Well documented post, but I think I am not the best person to help you, as I am not a gamer personally. I requested teh other members to help you if they can.

I will remain subscribed to your thread if any dump reading will be needed in future.

Ok mate lets start with the really basic stuff and look at the PSU can you do this for us > use part A:

Using HW Info
PART A:
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download < download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts are doing see my pic.
The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel
FOR OTHER COMPONENTS
PART B:
Open each small square with + in it on the section the components are in and then click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. See pic for example.

I took a quick look at the DM Log Collector output and your Speccy and will continue looking.

1) The hosts file has and entry for your VM, is the virtual switch bridged or do you use NAT?
Have you checked you firewall rules?
192.168.0.10 guestserver.com
-> There is no IPv6 address defined for guestserver.com - this shouldn't matter the IPv4 should always provide a fallback.

2) Spybot S&D - this has been known to cause issues on some machines.
For testing purposes, I suggest uninstalling Spybot and installing MSE.
Download Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows
It looks as though you have adequate protection with Comodo though

3) I've seen some threads where Punkbuster was causing BSODs.
Test by disabling.

4) Your BIOS is 1301, there is an updated version, 1402
Motherboards - P8Z77-V LK - ASUS
** Please confirm that I correctly identified your board and posted the correct support download link.

5) Is your drive encrypted?

Here's a reference page to Stop x24: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/lib...(v=vs.85).aspx
Not much help, really, even if you follow the links that look promising.

Here's a reference to a SevenForums thread that might point you in the right direction.
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Your temps look good in Speccy and the memory all match.

You say that the EVGA GTX 680 card I have is factory OC'd - is there a way to not overclock the card? Sorry for my ignorance on this, but overclocking is not my forte'

I'm sifting through the event logs for some nugget, but it's a lot of reading and will take some time.

Everything in this post is something to think about (Arc, ICIT2LOL, Thookrull, and anyone else who might stop by). Sometimes I just dump thoughts and then read more - usually by the time I've finished reading, the issue is resolved

While I'm otherwise occupied, please follow ICIT2LOL's lead - he is focusing on making sure the hardware is in good working order.

Hmm Bill I have looked for factory overclocking or rather how to reset it and nothing really comes up except that some might have buttons to "undo" the OC - what I might suggest is the OP contacts the manufacturers and find out for himself.

Oh and some system specs would be good eh? System Info - See Your System Specs because we are working in the dark here a bit too.

PS Meant to say some refs to changing the OC with some manufacturers voids the warranty

From post# 3
http://speccy.piriform.com/results/e...GYXGWOQvDwFmBR

EVGA - Articles - EVGA GTX 680 Graphics Cards

Thookrull mentions Precision in post# 3 - but in reference to BF4
EVGA - Software - EVGA PrecisionX 16

http://www.evga.com/support/manuals/...al_English.pdf

Hope that helps, I always get confused by EVGA / NVidia ... dual, triple, quad GPUs, not to mention overclocking.

My text editor hung while I was processing the event logs. I'll have to try again with a different editor. Man, reading logs takes me wayyyyyy back - it is tiresome, but if you persevere and pay attention, there's usually something helpful.

When I blink that I miss stuff

Ok Bill missed that and I see that system is very similar to my main machine CPU board etc

I would have liked to see a shot of the HW Info stuff but if Thookrull reckons that 650 watts for the machine is ok that might be so but I was more interested in that it is putting out the volts needed. It takes a couple of minutes to do but if Thookrull is happy with what there is in place well I have no more to add.

What I don't understand is how many GPU's are there installed because my board is pretty chock a block with a GTX 650Ti and a Xonar sound card - if there are two or three then I am still wondering with everything else what the power draw would be?

I think a run of this would soon tell us what that could be
http://www.extreme.outervision.com/p...ulatorlite.jsp < the pro version even works out the amperage but this light version is still good
