Dell Inspron BSOD or freeze after startup

    Hi there

i have a dell Inspron N5010 laptop that BSOD/freezes after about 15 - 20min from start up. i have done a clean install of windows 7 pro and still have the same issue. i have enabled Driver verifier trying to get a root cause but no luck so far.

i have used dells built in testing software, 18 hours later everything passed and works fine.

i have attached the dump files.

    system specs:

    i5 m460 @2.53GHz
    4Gb Ram
    500Gb HDD
    Win7 Pro sp1 64 bit

    thanks

Can you follow the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions ? If not in normal mode, try it in safe mode.

Attach the zip in your reply post.

Apparently it is avast that is conflicting with the storage filters and causing the issue. Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Also, as a further check test your RAM modules for possible errors. Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

    Let us know the results.

so for h3ll of it i pulled out this hdd and put in a test drive and reloaded windows, redoing all my steps that i did as before. i needed to redownload deamon tools so i could install office. any way i went to there site and they had a diffrent version than what i had gotten 3 days ago and in the bug fix was ...

    Bugs fixed:

    - BSOD in DT adapter with Verifier;
    - Minor fixes.

so maybe that was my problem? i have reinstalled the old drive and installed the new version of DT and i will post back in a few hours.
