BSOD when playing games

My computer has run problem free since I built it. Its a little over a year old currently. Tonight on 2 different occasions I was playing a pc game (not a browser game) and had the BSOD happen to me. I believe it was 2 different BSOD errors but I don't really know anything about this sort of things and my searching online has turned up nothing. The first time the game I was trying to play just loaded as I got the BSOD and the second time I was in the middle of playing the game when the BSOD happened. The second time I missed the BSOD message because it happened when I was looking away talking to my son and turned just to see it disappear. Hopefully you all can assist me fix my issue I have attached the files that was mentioned in a different post. Here are the specs of my pc if you all need that as well. Thanks in advance! *crosses fingers*

Hello King Raizen welcome to the Forums. I will try to help you with this error. You had 2 dump files which is what we use to debug the files. Both were the same thing.

Code:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116)
Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa800c0b6010, Optional pointer to internal TDR recovery context (TDR_RECOVERY_CONTEXT).
Arg2: fffff88004482848, The pointer into responsible device driver module (e.g. owner tag).
Arg3: 0000000000000000, Optional error code (NTSTATUS) of the last failed operation.
Arg4: 0000000000000002, Optional internal context dependent data.
A TDR failure is a difficult one to diagnose. What it means is that your drivers crashed and did not recover in time, so Windows assumed a Video failure and shut down to protect from damage. TDR means Time Delay and Response, in case you want to know. I would like you to get a good program to monitor your GPU temps. If you don't have one and need a suggestion, I will help. I would like you to stress test the GPU with Furmark. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark Please watch the temps closely. If they go too high, stop the test. Try to run the test until temps level out and watch the test for artifacts.

Thanks for the reply. Quick question, so was going to shut the computer down earlier and ran into a few AMD Raptr program errors as the PC was trying to shut down. Is it possible that this program somehow became corrupt through a recent update I did and would cause this sort of BSOD issue that I was having?

First off, I really know little about AMD Raptr. But, it is possible that the BSODs caused corruption and frequently do. But, I see it as anything is suspect until we know for sure what the real problem is.

AMD Raptr is a program that is suppose to help keep track and help optimize whatever games you play, in game video capture as well as some chat features. It had an update the day before this issue, then the next day I had the 2 BSOD. When I went to shut down the pc the day the issue happened I got those raptr errors. So the next morning I turned off the program hoping that that could be the cause of the issue. So far I haven't had anymore issues happen *crosses fingers* but I figured best to post here to see what the files turned up and my other question. Hopefully it does not happen anymore and I do thank you for your help thus far. Guess if it happens again I will be back.

I had read about Raptr, but never looked at it closely. I'm not really an Nvidia fan boy, but I have just been getting Nvidia cards lately, so haven't kept up with AMD for quite a while. But that program sounds much like the GeForce Experience Nvidia has. The streaming and screen capture features can cause issues. I never install it even though it has some good features. I wrote a tutorial on installing Nvidia drivers. The crux of that is both Nvidia and AMD install stuff that you do not need, like audio drivers and HDMI drivers which you already have in your Motherboard drivers. The 3D drivers are used by very few. Anything you install in your system is a greater chance of conflicting with other drivers. Especially the ones you already have in your system, like 2 audio or HDMI drivers is never a good idea. So, my philosophy is never install anything you don't need or actually use.
