I'm sorry to say that too, but if you know someone who works on laptops, or if you can do it yourself; you could see if the wiring seems OK and if it is possible to replace it. Many laptops, it isn't possible.
I will send it to a guy who works with notebooks, it would be my last resource, it's very expensive, but I will try.
As I see your problem, that would be your only option if you want to game on it. I imagine your internal graphics can play games that are not real demanding. But I think the newer games are most likely out.

Recently, not sure exactly when but my Blu-Ray drive meant missing from Windows. At the same a drive letter for a software based drive went missing too. There is no hardware for this second drive. The driver allows me to mount ISO images easily in Explorer.
