Windows 7: BSOD at random times

no boot

So I'm kind of hosed. I realized that the raid drivers were causing crashes, having tried a bunch of versions. So I broke the raid in the MB bios and the intel chipset bios. Luckily this didn't wipe the drive and it booted up okay. But the raid drivers were still there and kept causing crashes. So I decided to uninstall them and somehow in the process windows now refuses to boot again. The graphic starts up, the spinning dots and they stop at some point. When I boot in safe mode it stops at the classpnp.sys. The repair doesn't work. The restore point also doesnt seem to work. I can get to the command prompt, but am clueless if there is something I can do to fix it or am I forced to rebuild the system?

Try putting the BIOS sata controller back to raid and see if that helps. If that doesn't work, try AHCI.

did the trick

Setting it back to RAID and doing a system restore seemed to do the trick. ANy idea how I actually get rid of this driver then and get rid of the raid all together?

Now that you know you can set it back to Raid and boot, please try setting it to AHCI and see if it will boot. It should. That driver also has the Intel AHCI driver included in it. If you can boot into AHCI, I believe we can switch drivers.

No luck. It wont boot with the AHCI setting enabled.

Would you show me a screenshot of Device Manager with IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and/or Disk Controllers expanded? Clicking the small triangle next to them will expand them.

According to that you still have iaStore (IRST) installed. See if you can find it in add remove programs. IRST is Intel's Raid controller. But, it also has the Intel AHCI driver. So, you should be able to boot with AHCI enabled in BIOS.

yes

I uninstalled it. Everything but the driver was removed, saying it was needed to access the HD.
But afterwards, when I switch to AHCI in the BIOS it refuses to boot.

I have arconis true image. I'm thinking of switching to AHCI or IDE and then restoring using the universal restore. What do you think?
