Freeze on right click or browser close

At times my Win7 Ultimate 64 bit version will freeze when I right click the desktop or when closing a browser.

I don't even get the "Exlorer.exe has quit responding" error, it just freezes and does nothing. I performed 3 clean installs and had the same problem every time. I'm running fewer programs than I had installed with the RC and I never had this problem with the RC.

This sounds like more of a hardware problem....

Perhaps a mouse driver?

So suddenly my hardware is no longer compatible when it was for RC?

Ah, I missed that.

Well, then perhaps not. Have you used the same disk each time to install?

Open command prompt (run as admin) and type this:
Code:
sfc /scannow

"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Sorry, would post screenshot but I'm running in safe mode (I have no freezes when I use safe mode).

I have heard of this problem by many people using 64 bit version. I thought I might try the 32 bit version, but alas I cannot even log in to the Microsoft Store, since apprantly the temporary password they sent me in my e-mail is not valid.

Are you using x64?
Are you using x64 IE or regular?

Using x64 for Windows 7, but x86 for IE I think (whatever the default taskbar shortcut is).

Hmmm, after reading threads with similar problems, I decided to try uninstalling Kaspersky. So far I haven't had a freeze yet, and before I would get them within 5 minutes of using Windows. I'll update later to inform you of whether or not I continue having problems. (Don't worry, I'm disabling internet while I am without protection)

I would also have the problem when right-clicking the desktop without IE open. Or when running another program.

How do I close all windows from a single application in one click?
My computers at home and work both run Windows 7. Both have "taskbar buttons" set to "combine when the taskbar is full" (so that if, say, I have 3 open pdf files or Word documents, they default to having a separate location on my taskbar, unless there's no room). My work computer has something...

Right-click + C to close from TaskBar... no more?
Added to the unnervingly long list of keystroke actions that are more work in Win7 than in WinXP is the ability to close a window from the taskbar in just 2 steps. In WinXP this was easy and quick with a right-click and C (for close). In Win7 -- at least with Classic Shell installed -- it needs an...

Programs freeze and will not close or restart
My apologies if this is in the wrong section. There really doesn't seem to be a section on the forum that fits my question better. I'm writing this on behalf of a friend, who just bought a new laptop with Windows 7 on it. It ran perfectly for the first week. Then in some baffling turn of...
