Late reply again...I'm sorry. I actually haven't used my laptop in a few days. Was on a mini vacation from school and took advantage by doing other things.

Well I turned it on this morning and my wireless driver has disappeared again. This started happening shortly after I had a virus and shortly before I started getting BSODs. I'm really starting to think it's causing all the problems. I haven't had any BSODs since I removed Pando and Akami but my wireless driver keeps doing this. I even contacted ASUS and they guided me and I downloaded the driver again and it worked for some days and it disappeared this morning, with a red x saying there are no connection. I will try to upload the files soon.

Edit: I also tried to reinstall it and it won't let me. I press the setup in the zipped folder and it would say it's preparing the installation and disappear and nothing happens

Edit: emisoft file

I'm not familiar with Firefox but those look like browser hijackers. I also see that you have an entry from the "Guest" account. This is dangerous as malware can take advantage of this account and elevate the privileges. It's best to turn this account off. If you share the PC, create a standard user account for them and be sure UAC is turned on.

Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage Accounts - Turn OFF the Guest account.

I thought they were all gone...wow

Firefox is an Internet browser. I can delete it. I used it as a backup when Chrome had issues with certain pages. But I barely use it now.

Do I delete what was quarantined? Do you think this is why I'm always losing wifi (which often happened when I had BSODs. It would freeze and then blue screen then I turn it back on and it would have a red X on it) I can't even download the driver anymore. It's not responding when I do try.

I just had another blue screen while trying to uninstall Firefox. My wifi driver is back again even though it wasn't there yesterday. It froze three times but only BSOD once.

It's still showing a CPU hardware error.

I know this is a Laptop but are you overclocking anything--Like the video? Made changes to the BIOS? Added or changed memory?

I noticed all your startups are back. You were instructed to add back ONE at a time and test stability. Other than your network driver, redo the Clean Start and uncheck the last item added back. It may be what's causing the problem.

I don't think I'm overclocking anything or made changes to BIOS. I know I didn't add or change memory either. The only thing I know that was done to it was that it was replaced with Windows 7 Professional but it came with Windows 8. I didn't do this but whoever gave it to my friend did but I'm pretty sure that was the only thing changed. I also had to redownload the wifi driver before but I have spoken to ASUS representatives and they linked me which one to download as well as the steps.

Would this mean I may have to replace the CPU?

I didn't do them one by one. I'm sorry. I thought after deleting Akami and Pando, you wanted me to add everything back and try to see if the problem was resolved. I will do the clean start again.

I don't think it is the CPU as long as it's been run within specs. I suspect an errant driver that's crashing the CPU. The BCC is 0x124 (hardware) but these are most often caused by drivers. The dumps aren't very revealing with this error since the CPU dumps a few registers then just stops.

Do the clean start and test for stability.

Download and run Malwarebytes Antimalware (MBAM) free version. Be sure to select the Home/Free version for download. They've gummed up the site to make it a little confusing but it's the top download button. During the install, uncheck the trial for Pro and/or any other software offered. You do want the update though.

If MBAM comes back clean, add-back ONE of the startup tasks and continue testing.

Ok, MBAM came up clean without any of the startup tasks. Then I added back the first one and it found a PUP. It was Adobe Acrobat Update Service that was added back. I removed the PUP but the name of it escapes me right now. I forgot to take a photo but it sounded familiar. I think I've removed PUP's by that name before. I will tell you the name when I get home.

Should I add the next one and continue checking?

Edit: by test for stability, did you mean me just playing around with it for an hour or so?

Need to know the PUP. It may be part of Adobe and just flagged for what it does. (Checking licenses, updates or BHO) Yes, you can just use the PC but put it under some type of load--Not just word processing and browsing. Try playing a game.

If you don't have time for that, there's a couple of test programs you can run that will tax the system to the hilt. These should be run on laptops with the AC adaptor and clear air paths as they can cause a lot of heat and drain a battery really fast. It wouldn't hurt to elevate the laptop by the bottom corners. DO NOT block any of the air inlets/outlets.

Long Test: Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Short CPU Test: CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest
Short Video Test: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Short system test using WEI: Windows Experience Index - Update or Refresh Score
(No software required for this one--Built in.)

Oh...I've already removed it. Will this negatively affect my computer?

I've been playing DOMO for 2-3 hours when trying to see what happens but that's on some days. I tried Prime95 before and it heated up pretty quickly so I was afraid to use it again. I'll keep trying with the gaming for hours and possibly the two other short tests.
