Thanks for sharing the link but it didn't work for me.

I tried the DISM method and was successfully able to resolve the issue. Typing it from the same laptop which wasn't working a day before.

Fix for BSOD KB3045999

This is using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
I had to do a system restore to a previous restore point just prior to the update that loaded KB3045999. After doing the restore I was able to load all other windows updates and the system worked.
Just unistalling KB3045999 did not fix the BSOD.

I hope this helps other people, still trying to find out why it is causing the BSOD.

Hi all,

I started getting this exact same bsod issue last week too.
I have changed cmos battery updated uefi bios, reset cmos and did a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate x64 on a new Crucial M100 SSD.
Installed only wifi drivers and ran windows update.

Same bsod with same error.

There seems to be some theories that its a bluetooth driver issue.

Is it safe to just disable the faulty update, kb3045999, and continue?

Thanks in advance!

In my case, it got nothing to do with anything else except that update. I uninstalled the update in CMD and it worked like it never had any problem

Same here, I restored from System Image and installed all updates bar kb3045999 and everything is fine.
It seems to be causing issues with a number of Applications including Virtual Box, and is causing bsod for a number of users.
From what I can gather the bsod has something to do with a conflict with an Intel Bluetooth driver.

I am on a Z87 pro mobo and attempted a fresh install with only the bare minimum of drivers before trying a windows update and got the same bsod. Only after disabling the update can I access the system.

It is a particularly bad bug as it wont let you access safe mode, LKGC or restore from a backup, so those without a System Image are gonna have a bad time.

The silence from MS is deafening. This update is only going to get worse as systems go down.
As far as I am aware the same update is included in Win 8.1 updates so I would be interested to see if it causes the same grief with that OS.

Anyway for now it seems simply disabling and hiding the update will work. And I suppose we can take it as a reminder to always have an up to date System Image handy, those who don't have an image and get the bsod error are going to have a nightmare on their hands. The potential data loss is significant.

Thanks for all the help!

OK, this is admittedly a strange one... I have used an old (probably a 16-bit) application as my time synchronizer this I've used for quite some time. Its name is TimeRC, and is a great synchronizer as it tracks moon phases along with the time (from selectable, multiple potential time servers)....
