Frequent BSOD for no particular reason

Ghebbis, as far as I am aware, a bad overclock cannot 'break' your ram. What it can do though a if you change the wrong settings, it can get the frequency out of sync with the timings and cause your ram to create errors. But, setting it back right, the ram will do fine.

Ghebbis, go into BIOS and see what your Sata Controller is set to (IDE, AHCI or Raid), Load Optimized defaults (usually F5 on Asus boards) confirm that is what you want. Go back to your sata controller and set it to what it is right now, make sure your ram is set to manufacturer's Specs for Timings, Frequency and Dram Voltage, Set your Boot order, save and exit.

Ok I got to the point where I loaded optimized defaults and SATA kept the same mode (AHCI). I'm not sure what the manufacturer's Specs were nor how to find them, but a lot of settings changed in the AI tweaker interface: most of them went back to AUTO including voltages. Should I proceed with saving and exiting?

P.s: I went on doing it and I got the cpu fan error again. I pressed F1 to run the setup..Any idea on how to fix it?

The manufacturer's specs are on the package they came in, and on a sticker on the sides of the ram sticks. I would expect auto for everything to be OK. Make sure you set your boot order, then save an exit.

Ghebbis, I honestly don't mean to sound harsh, but ram timings and voltage are basic things you need to know about your equipment. If you don't understand your equipment and know it's specs, capabilities and basic understanding of how BIOS works. You really don't need to be overclocking at all. My rule #1 of overclocking is 'if you can't afford to replace it, Don't overclock it'. Rule #2 is to never use software to overclock. Software is what AI Suite and the auto overclocking in bios is.

Assuming your CPU fan is working right... Go into BIOS, go to the monitoring section, go to fan monitor, find the CPU fan and set it to ignore. Save and Exit. Now, I am not familiar with your CPU Cooler. The fan on it should be plugged into the CPU fan header, if it is an air cooler. It will allow you to control the speed and to get that warning if your fan dies. Make sure your fan is working before you do any of that, or you will burn up your CPU.

In the boot section you can set bios to Advanced Mode, so when you go into bios you will be in advanced mode rather than easy mode.
