    BSOD Working with Android Studio

    Hello all.

As it happens, I believe Android Studio was closed, and I was simply browsing when the BSOD appeared 'out of the blue'...so to speak.

I looked up from my work, and there it was!

Please, would you confirm what the computer was doing in the event logs? (Don't know how to do that)

However, I am primarily concern my harddrive may be failing.

    Best Regards,
      My Computer

First of all, as you havent responded in your previous thread over a year, please care to mark that one as solved. BSOD was waiting for me when I returned to my laptop this evening.

For your present issue, update the Mobile Broadband Driver Filter (c:\windows\system32\drivers\wwussf64.sys) and the driver to the Dell Wireless 5560 HSPA+ Mini-Card Network Adapter from Drivers & Downloads | Dell US

Report us for any further issue.

    I must have missed something

Yeah, I'm still in trouble here.

Just got the ol' BSOD, again!!

I mistakenly thought this was resolved.

What could be the problem now?!

I did find a zip file on Dell with a whole bundle of drivers:

The files, wwussf64.sys & WwanUsbMp64.sys, in there does appear to be much more recent than the files on my machine.

Is it just a matter of copying over the files from this zip file into the appropriate directory?

It can't be that easy, can it?

No crash dump there ... so I cannot say.

Install the driver following Driver Install - Device Manager.

Thanks, I forgot about using the Device Manager!
    Yikes! Been a while.

Well I did use the Device Manager to go through most of the drivers and see what needed updating.
Just went down the tree and scanned the unzipped cabinet file contents for any new drivers.
All expect one stated the drivers were up-to-date.

In the end, one new entry appeared under Ports (COM & LPT) with the following drivers I'm assuming being updated:
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\d554gps64.sys
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\umdb\d554sen.dll
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\wudfrd.sys

I can't find under which entry in Device Manager where the file, wwussf64.sys, would be listed if at all.

Next, I downloaded the driver updater, driver-updater-setup.exe, as further suggested.
Installed, and it's stated I've 21 old/missing and 87 up to date drivers.

I then went and found the old/missing drivers indicated, and checked them with the unzipped cabinet file contents. Two entries I couldn't find (Motherboard resources and HID-compliant device) and the rest when scanned came back with, "Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date." except for one:

O2Micro OZ776 USB CCID Smartcard Reader
    c:\Windows\System32\Drivers\oz776x64.sys
    C:\Windows\System32\DRIVERS\csfilter.sys

They may indeed have 20 drivers that are more recent than the ones on my machine, but the cabinet file appears to be up to date in its own right.

We'll see if my latest efforts will do the trick.

See if you can get anything helpful for you.

I see that a lot of other users also have an issue with that device driver. And the responses from Dell support are also not very end oriented there, apparently.

Appreciate it. I'll take a look and see what I can do with that.

In the meantime, I've encountered yet another BSOD and collected the files here.

Please, I don't readily know how to read it's contents myself.

    The journey continues.
