    BSOD following g930 purchase

    Hi SevenForums,
Built this PC a while back and have been periodically updating it (recently purchased a new CPU, before that upgraded RAM) and I've never had a BSOD. Two months back a speaker on my headset went out so I purchased a Logitech g930, which is excellent, though soon after installing it I started to get periodic BSODs playing Nosgoth. Then I started to get them playing other games (eg EU4, Cities:Skylines, Pillars of Eternity).

First I screwed around with the Logitech drivers (since others have had similar problems with the g930), but to no avail so I reformatted. That didn't do the trick and I still get BSODs at similar rates while playing high-demand games. I say 'high-demand' because I've never gotten a BSOD just having it on or doing something low-stress (eg Civ 5).

Finally going to suck it up and figure out how to run a MemTest, but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Flaherty0077.

Uninstall the installed display driver using Display Driver Uninstaller. Then install the CCC 14.4 WHQL only.

Let us know for any further BSOD after doing it.

During the MemTest it became readily apparent that my heatsink wasn't working (got up around 98C) - after a reapplication of thermal paste it's back down to normal levels and hasn't BSODed after three separate tests. Will keep the display driver swap if it rears back up, but at the moment - I'm just dumb, and that's what was causing it. Thanks
