Yes, Thanks for the info, standby. I am going to have someone look at it.

In the meantime, remove office and replace with openoffice.

    Moving on:

1.) Download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

    • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool

    • Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
    • Click on the Scan button.
    • AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
    • After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R#].txt) will open in Notepad for review (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
    • The contents of the log file may be confusing. Unless you see a program name that you know should not be removed, don't worry about it. If you see an entry you want to keep, let me know about it.
    • Upload the contents of that logfile in your next reply using the paper clip on the reply box.
    • A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

    2.) Using AdwCleaner v3: Scan & Clean:

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool again.
    Click on the Scan button.
AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer like it did before.
    After the scan has finished...

This time click on the Clean button.
Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S#].txt) will open automatically (where the largest value of # represents the most recent report).
Upload the contents of that logfile in your next reply using the paper clip on the reply box.

    Junkware Removal tool:

3.) Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.

    • Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.
    • Right click over JRT.exe and select Run as administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7, double-click on XP.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Upload the contents of that logfile in your next reply using the paper clip on the reply box.
    • When completed make sure to re-enable your antivirus

    You can run clean.

I wasn't expecting more. So far I have not found anything serious. so far.

can you post the results from jrt?

    ____________________________________________________________________________________
Just to play it extra safe, do the following. If this turns up nothing, I am going to say you are most likely clean. Which honestly, is/would be surprising using such a outdated browser.

    Download DDS:

    DDS.com

Save the file to your pc. Then open the dds icon to run the tool.
When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    DDS.txt
    Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop.
Include the contents of both logs in your next post by using the paperclip

vlassis, have you installed any new hardware recently?

Perhaps a Western Digital External Hard Drive? It might clue me in to your bsod issue. Might.

I did not find any malware. NOTICE/disclaimer: this is not a 100% guarantee your system is clean, no one can guarantee that. However, I believe your system to be free from threats. Congrats! Your the only person so far I suspected of having malware and not having any, not even a pup. So good job there.

By the way, could you also do the following?

1.) Please Run sfc /scan now using option 2 in this tutorial: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

2.) Please post back the results.
Please indicate what message was displayed at the end:

    Windows found no integrity violations

    OR

Corrupt files were found, and windows was unable to fix them.

    OR

Corrupt files were found, and windows successfully repaired them

Hello and once again thank you for your time!!

For your first question. I currently have 3 WD external drives so, yes, I have installed them and used them all.

For the SFC scan the result was "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."
Furthermore I am uploading the CBS.log for additional info.

And for the malware part, I am cautious and know a lot of things about browser and computers in general (but unfortunately I lack the knowledge that you guys have.xD)

Oh an one more think to have in mind. Since I uninstalled Google Chrome I had no issue or BSOD!!

    Anyway thanks again!

thank you for the information. I am glad to hear removing chrome fixed the problem for you.

I recently was looking up some stuff online, and I noticed a few things. Quite a few people mentioned that some of the newer external WD drives were causing bsods. Right before your bsod happened, the WD Drive Manager service terminated. According to your event viewer, this happened a few times before your bsod happened. I am curious. If you plugged in your external drives a few times and did some stuff, then later used some programs or a browser does the bsod happen again? Just wondering.

Also, your windows install is partially corrupted according to that result. I am going to have someone stop by here soon to determine how bad it is.
