Sporatic BSOD and Black Screen Freeze-ups/Crash

With Help from this forum about three months ago I was able to troubleshoot and fix issues with a defective installed Video Driver, but starting about a week ago once again I've been getting BSOD and also freeze-ups [without BSOD] that go to a Black Screen and then I need to reboot.

I had installed the latest Adobe flash upgrade minutes before this crash, after reboot system recommended a boot-up files fix from the menu that went on to restored the previous 'restore-point' configuration, apparently Flash was uninstalled [as Adobe/Flash requested a new install right after the reboot], unfortunately even so the system crashed a minute after again, this time I got a BSOD that reported something related to a Driver, unfortunately I forgot to do a screen-grab.

Hopefully this latest BSOD file dump is uploaded here, Could some one take a look and see which driver or what else could be causing a problem now?

Thanks

Hi mackado,

I'm going to need 1 more log file to deduce the problem.

Please follow the steps below:
  1. Go to: Start > Type: msconfig.exe - Press Enter
  2. Go to the tab 'Boot'
  3. Bottom of the window there are check-boxes, tick the one called 'Boot log'
  4. Press Apply/OK
  5. Shutdown the PC
  6. Wait 10 seconds
  7. Turn on PC
  8. Go to - C:\Windows and find a file called ntbtlog.txt
  9. Upload this file to this thread
Once you have uploaded the file, I will take a look and we'll see what we can do from there.

Thanks Mistunleashed, needed a couple of reboots for that log to be created, another deatail that might help diagnose the problem about my latest BSOD[Although it was happening already weeks back]; MS/W7 did 9 Upgrades, apparently large ones, two days ago, after rolling back to previous 'restore point' as explained above this upgrades were deleted, and last night at shutdown MS reloaded the upgrades and just re-installed at this latest boot-up, no crashes yet today but they usually happen suddenly when least expected.....

Thanks, just now while reading your post sys crashed, I was doing a Anti-Malware scan and opened Firefox to check your post..I also remember that a week back Firefox's Add-ons had done some upgrades, then I had a BSOD episode right after, I disable a couple of this upgraded addons to this day, but apparently is not the issue.

Anyways I'll wait for your post, let me know if I need to upload this latest BSOD log.

Hi - Sorry i've been MIA over the last few days... been very busy!

I may have a possible solution:
  1. Go To: Start > Run > cmd (Run As Administrator)
  2. Type: netsh winsock reset
  3. Hit Enter
  4. Type: netsh int ip reset
  5. Hit Enter
  6. Type: ipconfig /release
  7. Hit Enter
  8. Type: ipconfig /renew
  9. Hit Enter
  10. Type: ipconfig /flushdns
  11. Hit Enter
  12. Type: ipconfig /registerdns
  13. Hit Enter
  14. Close cmd
Then after all of this check the following:
  1. Go To: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
  2. Press 'Change adapter settings'
  3. Right click on 'Local Area Connection' > Properties
  4. Double-Click on TCP/IPv6
  5. Ensure 'Obtain... automatically' is set for DNS and IPv6
  6. Press OK
  7. Double-Click on TCP/IPv4
  8. Ensure 'Obtain... automatically' is set for DNS and IPv6
  9. Press OK
  10. Press Apply/OK
After doing all of the above tasks, please restart the PC.

Let me know what happens.

Thanks
