Win7 ult x64 has variety of crashes/BSODs, many without crashdumps

Nope - I can't honestly say I ever look at that particular line in a report :)

It's the BIOS date in this case which gave it away - and not much else!

The free upgrade to Windows 7 was ALWAYS via an OEM_NSLP Product Key, as that was independent of the original motherboard.
The installed Key is an OEM_SLP Key, which relies on a Windows7-compliant BIOS SLIC table.
These tables cannot possibly be present legally on any machine with a BIOS dated before the RTM date of Windows 7 (22/7/2009).

Raiktarakk, here is the very short abbreviated version. In order for that Operating system to be activated on your computer requires a hacker's exploit which alters protected system files. When you alter the files that make the system work, you should expect the system to not run properly.

Counterfeit installations such as yours contain heavily modified code that causes the installation to behave it unexpected ways. Analyzing BSOD's and determining their causes on these sorts of installations is very unreliable. For this reason, many analysts won't attempt it.

My recommendation is to install a genuine Windows 7. This will minimize the problems you are experiencing, and make subsequent diagnosis of BSOD's far more reliable. Once you are running a Genuine Windows 7 installation, and are still experiencing BSOD's, we will be happy to help you solve them

Your operating system came installed on another computer and is legal only on that computer.

Just a thought - what was on that machine that you upgraded to 7 from because the experts here are saying what you have is not legal. From some searches around for that board I am going to assume it was XP?? or at least Vista.



What I am trying to get at is where did you get the machine - an original purchase or is it a used model or a refurbished one because whoever sold you that machine I am guessing has sold you a pup if it is not an original buy. The other likelihood could be that someone has "fixed" it for you and has done some rather unprofessional things to it.



Just what is the model number? as it doesn't say anywhere.



Lastly just swapping RAM sticks around would not cause you all these headaches - it simply doesn't make sense, and running Ultimate 64bit with just 4GB DDR2? RAM is hobbling you a bit.
