Completely random and frequent BSOD

Greetings,

I own an Asus Laptop N55 and it has been giving me lots of problems lately. When using the laptop, it has a tendency to crash even when i just left it idling. My BlueScreen Viewer says that it's caused by notskrnl.exe with the address ntoskrnl.exe+748c0. Attached below are the dump files from my bsod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. This is my first time posting here, so i apologize in advance for any mistake i done.

Stray dumps are not enough. Upload the zip resulting form the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions .

That's odd. The above zip file are generated from the dm log collector. Nevermind, i redownloaded and created another .zip again.

I downloaded the SF diagnostic tools and it produced the following folder.

Well, the present situation is an issue with the switchable graphics. It is very common in nature, and at the same time the solution is depending on your luck mostly.

But the history says something different.

We have noticed that the nvidia display driver is causing problem there over a long time and irrespective of the driver version installed. When the April version was installed, it was stop 0x50 and stop 0x116, so the driver update was rightly due there. You have done it, and installed service pack 1 too. With the driver update (June update and August update) the issue converted to stop 0x9F.

So it seems to be an issue from the part of GT555M, at this stage.

As there is another graphics option (onboard Intel HD 3000), try to stop net dedicated nvidia card. Follow this thread: BSOD after startup, error 0x0000009f .... it will give you some idea about how to do it.

I tried following the steps in the link, but unfortunately there is no graphic options in the bios. For now, i try what is stated in this post.

Disable intel hd graphic card for asus n55sf [Solved] - Asus - Graphics Cards

Changed the global setting to Nvidia card, will see how it goes for a while.

OK, let us have a look, but I think you need to change the global settings to the Intel HD 3000, keeping the nvidia one out of use?

Sorry for the long absent, was a long holiday and travelling with family.

I kept the setting and it seems to be working fine now. I prefer to have the Nvidia GPU ready as i might need it (gaming sometime). Only thing is that the laptop will BSOD when playing game, but i fixed that by limiting the GPU memory clock.
