Do you only have two DIMM slots?
If both sticks are failing in both slots (one at a time) then unfortunately it's not that conclusive as to whether it's the RAM or the DIMM slots. Do you know anybody who you could borrow a stick of RAM off to test?
No not thst I know of, I can ask some friends next week. Also is the voltage fine on the ram? I heard configuratios could also be a problem
Download Speccy as linked in my signature, run it and click on the RAM tab on the left. Take a screenshot and post it up here.
The voltages look fine to me, John is the expert in that area though so I'll wait for him to comment.
X mate please read and run for me check out the second pic screen by scrolling down the listing see pic
UsingHW Info
PART A:
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 -Download < download the right bit version andclose the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power sectionwhere you will see what the volts are doing see my pic. In my pic the section (Nuvoton) with VBATT is a dead give awayyou are in the section for the rail voltages. There are other section titlesand one that pops up often is ITE
Now the voltage on the different rails have to be within 5% =+/-of what is required or the machine will not work properly if at all.
See this for the rail voltage info
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-specifications-atx-reference,3061.html (Section 2.)
The original right hand window shows the machine running and ishandy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it anduse the main left hand side panel
FOR OTHERCOMPONENTS
PART B:
Open each small square with + in it on the section thecomponents are in and then click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in the righthand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds and otheressential info that particular device. See pic for example.
Use PART B: and check out the first screen and then move onto the second pic scroll down the listing to see if there are any anomalies ie volts etc
PS the pics might not load up in the right order but use the double screened one first.
As a by the by PART A: can be used to check out the battery volts see pic and I would even check out the adaptor with a digital meter while you are at it.
ok my battery voltage is fine, everything else is fine -. i went the whole day without a bsod. its weird not sure if its fixed or not. also do you want screenshots?
No mate as long as the voltages and capacities were the same in each cell (came across a shocker last week) and were within that 5% +/- of the required voltage then power should be ok to the machine. So we can rule out any problem from that direction.
If the blue screens have ceased then lets wait and see how things go.
