    another dll problem

I'm running windows 7 x64 currently, but when I tried to install cod:modern warfare 2, i got a weird error

"c:\windows\system32\bcrypt.dll is either missing or corrupt please use original media to repair it... etc"

so i search online for bcrypt.dll and i found this site that you can download and install it bcrypt.dll file download - Download / repair / restore corrupt or missing bcrypt.dll file

but the instruction the site gives didn't work

please help, this error is really pissing me off

    Hey.

You can't just go willy-nilly downloading files for other operating systems and expect them to work, especially if they're not of the same architecture.

You could put a little faith in this, however. Run it from an elevated command prompt. You can copy and paste:

    sfc /scannow

what do you mean by an elevated command? I ran sfc /scannow in windows command prompt and my computer froze around 9% and core dumped

Sorry to hear about your problem, you could try:

    sfc /Scanonce
And insert your windows 7 installation disk before rebooting.
To understand more about sfc you can read the link below:

ok i tried this in command prompt

    sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\bcrypt.dll

    and it gives me

"Window Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

but there is still that bcrypt.dll error when i tried to install cod:mw2

    this is so frustrating
