5yo Thinkpad always ALWAYS slow, intermitten hang-ups, frequent BSOD

PLEASE help me....I've let this ride for years just because I couldn't think what to do. I'm moderately tech-handy (or whatever you call it)- changed my own fan last year!
Definitely in the category of a little knowledge = dangerous thing. I fool around A LOT - poking in the task scheduler, deleting things that seem TOO BIG, etc.

The trouble seemed to peak right after Sandy - our house was totalled and while clambering upstairs I grabbed the Thinkpad and bumped it all over. Got disk replaced under guarantee but as an individual user they could not spare me the time of day, literally.
I have a bunch of screen caps of the BSODs.
I've done EVERYTHING - performance optimizers and assessers and encouragers - haven't paid for any at least.
Got some weird swirly gray cursor....?

Don't even know where to start. Please don't laugh at me! Please help me!

BB

no, go into the folder C:\Windows\Minidump and post the newest files in that folder in a zip file as per the BSOD posting instructions:

Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

also as a BSOD is involved, this may be moved to the BSOD help and support section by a Moderator.

Am I supposed to go somewhere else now? i had just had ANOTHER BSOD, first time in weeks, and my machine is agonizingly hanging. It froze while "collecting data for crash dump....initializing disk for crash dump...." That's it.
I took a photo of the screen, though.
I'm going to lose clients because of this - in addition to tearing my hair out!
I know the Lenovo test says the HDD is defective but I had just had it replaced under warranty a few months before.
THANK YOU for any helP!
(I know I'm not supposed to use caps, sorry.)

I've looked at my drivers until my eyes fall out, rolled 'em back and rolled 'em forward again. I honestly don't know what "look at my processor, BIOS and mobo" mean. I mean, I know what they are but I don't know to "look at" them.
Thanks for alerting me Hacb!!! I really appreciate it. I'm hoping you guys and gals are going to look at those looooong secret codes and tell me to change 1 teensy thing and all will be well. For a while I thought of tossing the whole machine but then I have to transfer all the stuff over and I'll have a NEW sloooooooow machine.

Random Slow Down/Hang up and BSOD
Hi evryone! I'm experiencing random slow down then lead to system hang up then BSOD. Sometime when I wait 3-4 mins, it doesn't lead to BSOD and I'm able to continue my work. I'm using windows 7 x64 build 7600, when I first installed it worked fine. I think I was able to run it for 1-2 weeks...
