BSOD while writing serial data and acquiring frames via grabber

Hello,
I need to autofocus a thermal camera which operates serially. I am using MATLAB to send serial data and MATLAB's Image Acquisition Toolbox to get frames. My MATLAB program acquires a frame, processes it to find its "focus measure" and then rotates the lens clockwise or anticlockwise so that maximum value of focus measure is obtained. Most of the times the program works correctly and converges to the maxmimum focus point. But occasionally, BSOD appears during the execution of the program.

The following error appears upon restart:
Code:
Problem signature:

Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.48
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: d1
BCP1: 00000014
BCP2: 00000002
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: 8BE28652
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\082015-27752-01.dmp
C:\Windows\Temp\WER-34335-0.sysdata.xml

The .dmp files are attached herewith. The zip file contains a lot of .dmp files because it has crashed a lot of times by now. I am using Dazzle DVCr80 grabber.
I suspect that it's a grabber drivers issue but I am not sure. Can the problem be solved using windows xp because this grabber is quite old and its drivers may not be compatible with windows7?

I have also posted the same question in mathworks because I thought there might be something wrong with my code but no one has replied yet there. So I thought I'd try here.

If there is any other information needed, please let me know.

Thanks.

Probably caused by : nuvvid2.sys ( nuvvid2+14652 )
These are the NUVision Video & Audio drivers, these are probably related to the thermal camera. As you said they are very outdated. If your lucky XP can maybe run this, if not then you must switch over to Windows 2000 for it to function properly.
Code:
7/11/2001 12:41:07 PM C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\nuvaud2.sys
10/28/2001 4:34:45 PM C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\nuvvid2.sys

@Laith, thank you for the reply.

I have already switched over to XP, but the problem is still the same. It feels like that it is not as frequent as it was in windows7, but it is still there.

So, there is no solution to this except to get a new/updated video grabber?

Thanks.

Yes and also audio grabber. But if you REALLY want this grabber then i suggest downgrading to Windows 2000, but being very careful for viruses etc that can harm your computer.

@Laith

The grabber has 1 video and 3 audio channels. I am using just the video channel as I need only the video frames at certain instants. Can the dump files indicate whether the issue is with the video part of the drivers or the audio part?

Thanks again.

Then you need to replace the grabber. Yes it can i said eariler that 2 drivers were causing it, which are:
Code:
nuvvid2.sys
(Video driver) and
Code:
nuvaud2.sys
(Audio driver).

So you need to replace the driver and delete the old drivers.

Okay. I'll get a new grabber. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.

Thanks for your help.
