    BSOD when playing Steam/Davinci Resolve/LOL

    My BSOD has been going on for about 6 months but it seems to be getting worse. It started when I would play LOL. Not every time but somewhat often. It would never do it outside of LOL. Then I started playing Rocket League on steam and it happens pretty frequently. Its rare that I play the game without it happening. But once again it never happened outside of that. I also would use my computer to edit videos. Now it most recently did it twice while I was editing in Davinci Resolve 12 beta. Once in a while when the computer restarts after the blue screen it will not fully boot up and say something about the CPU temperature being too high. I'll get exactly what it says the next time I do it. I believe I have a sufficient fan system and I am also in a basement is its pretty cool but obviously something is very wrong. I thought it had to do with the graphics card software but I've uninstalled/reinstalled/updated many many times and it doesn't correct the problem. No idea if this is related but I purchased some identical RAM to what is running in my machine and when I went to install it wouldn't boot up. Could be completely separate I just wanted to include all of the information I could think of. Any help would be great. Thanks!

    EDIT: My computer BSOD this morning and gave me the temp error. It stated CPU OVER TEMPERATURE ERROR. I went into the setup screen and found my CPU was 88°C my motherboard was 28°C. My CPU fan was running at 2132 rpm and my CPU setting was on powersaver. Hopefully that helps!

    Hiya and welcome to SevenForums!
    Code:
    BugCheck 116, {fffffa8012a75200, fffff88003c0cc9c, 0, 2}

    Probably caused by : atikmpag.sys ( atikmpag+cc9c )
    The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
    Make sure you tick the Uninstall C:/AMD and C:/NIVIDA folders while you are in DDU when you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! This is the guide for DDU: Display Driver Uninstaller: How to use

    Remember to remove Catalyst and only install the graphics driver.

    Thanks for your help. I ran the uninstaller in safe mode but cannot find just the driver. All I can find is it bundled with the catalyst software. Where can I get just the driver? I have a Sapphire Radeon R9 280. Thanks so much for the help

    Hmm, you should get an installer. Run it, it will give you some options related to Catalyst, untick those options.

    Yeah that's the problem, once you run the installer the catalyst software is already checked and you can't unselect it. I ran a custom install but that's what happened. Should I try to contact AMD to see what they say?

    Well it has already BSOD'd after the removal and reinstall. So I'm back at square one now. Anything else I can try?

    No problem, it's my duty to help.
    Run Furmark, if the temps goes too high stop the test. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
