BSOD - GTX 660M - nvlddmkm.sys - Windows 7 - Clevo Laptop -

Hi,

Im going to post as much information as possible, but currently I can play games for about 5 minutes before the I get a Blue screen.


I will post the make and model details below, as well as the BSOD info/files whichever is best.

If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, I feel as though the problem may lie with Clevo and their inability to update their drivers since 2012.

Similar results for both games, about 5 minutes of play time then a freeze followed by the BSOD, always this Nvidia file, except for the first time which was something else related to the Hard-Drive drivers.

This is a fairly fresh install of windows, It wasn't the smoothest driver wise but I had to use DriverPack to help get some of the missing drivers that caused the Hard-Drive issues.

I'm sorry this sounds so clinical, but I thought information would be more beneficial, any and all help will be appreciated, I'm considering getting rid of the laptop at this rate.

Hello, Nemecys. I'm not sure what the issue is for sure. For some reason we cannot open your dump files in the debugger correctly. What information I do get is that the issue is with your Graphics card or drivers.

I did notice you have Dameon Tools installed. Dameon tools is a well known cause of BSODs. I would recommend you uninstall it .

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.


2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:

- Double click the executable to open it

- Click the button shown below





If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

Also, open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

I found one that opened and it is saying your hard drive has errors. I don't know what brand of SSD you have, but I would try to find a diagnostic tool from the manufacturer to check it.

If the uninstall button is grayed out, you already removed all of it, and can just close it. If it is not grayed out, push the uninstall button to remove the left over parts.

You still have no dump files. Did you enable small memory dumps? I notice 2 errors you have been having, other than a lot of GTA5.exe errors.

MSVCR110.DLL is a missing C++ error in Visual Studio Be sure to get the correct bit number (X86 or X64) and download it from here Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download Center#

You are also getting errors from KERNELBASE.dll. The suggestions I found were to, Try right clicking the start button and select System, In the left column select System Protection, Highlight the C drive and click continue. Make sure the turn on system protection is marked and set a percentage at the bottom of the screen. Depending on the size of your drive, it is usually good at 5 -10%. Next click OK. Then click the advanced tab, and in the window that pops up, click Data Execution Prevention Tab. Make sure the "Turn on DEP for essential Programs and Services only" is marked.
