BSOD playing Microsoft FSX

Having a difficult time with consistent crashes BSOD about 30 seconds after scenery is loaded and flight begins. This is my first time posting so bear with me. Screen goes black and audio hangs up, I see a momentary blue screen with error data, then the computer restarts. Any help would be most appreciated... thanks for your time. Lon

Hiya and welcome to SevenForums!
Man, it has been a looooooong time since i played FSX, i remember having over 1000+ planes(i was suuuuper-addicted to planes before). I was crazy at that game before. Anyways lets get to troubleshooting!
Code:
BugCheck 116, {fffffa800b2a3010, fffff880044afcac, 0, 2}

Probably caused by : atikmpag.sys ( atikmpag+ccac )
The problem is caused by your graphics driver. Run Display Driver Uninstaller(DDU)
Make sure you tick the Uninstall C:/AMD and C:/NIVIDA folders while you are in DDU when you are done running DDU install your graphics driver again and you should be good to go! This is the guide for DDU: Display Driver Uninstaller: How to use

Remember to remove Catalyst and only install the graphics driver.

Re: FSX BSOD and gpu driver

The card I am using is SAPPHIRE Radeon R7 240 100369-2GL 2GB but I cannot seem to find a driver without Catalyst. Any thoughts?

Just install CCC(Catalyst) bundled in. I'm curious, how many planes do you have?

Got it.... Used custom install just to install the main driver without the hdmi audio driver and all the other catalyst crap. Flew okay last night without a hitch. Just beginning with flight sim and only using the Cessna 172. BTY I will be interested to see if Adobe Photoshop CC runs any better as it also was crashing at times and yes, am using a SSD for a scratch drive. I will see how everything runs over the next few days. Thanks so much Laith!
