BLACK-SOD before login into W7 (No coursur, safe mode works)

Hello Forum,

A few days ago I wanted to boot up my system seeing it randomly crashed the night before as I slept. To my suprise nothing happend after the windows logo was there. I tried re-bootying it a couple of times but nothing helped, so I tried the usual options like system repair, then set it back to a previouse time but nothing seemed to work, except the safe mode. Safe mode worked fine, no problems there, the only problem now being that I dont have any drivers working there. I also used the "dm-log-collector", and the file will be here too, if needed. That's pretty much it.

Thanks you in advance, have a wonderfull day,
Daniel K.

Probably you have installed Service Pack one after receiving some BSODs a few days ago?

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Do it in Safe Mode, then try to boot back in normal mode. Report us the situation after doing it.

Sadly though, your tip didnt solve the problem. Windows login screen stayed empty as ever.

Actually we dont have any information about the present situation. The crash dumps are of July, and without SP1; So they are not showing the present scenario.

Whatever, if it works in safe mode and not in normal mode, there is a great chance that some of the drivers is causing the issue, and without the crash dump we are in dark about the failing driver. So we have to do some trial and errors, apparently there is no other way.

Try to disable the third party services as well.

In safe mode, disable the services as well as the programs in startup.

It will open the system configuration window, with the "general" tab selected.
  • Click the "startup" tab. Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK.
  • Click on "services" tab. Check the "Hide all Microsoft Services"; Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK
Then try to boot again normally. Is it failing still?

If so, Boot into the BIOS and disable the nvidia display. Otherwise you can do it in Nvidia control panel. Then try to boot up with the Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 only. (Why? Because the major difference with normal mode and safe mode is the graphics driver).

Does it work? Let us know.

Thank you very much for trying to help. I aleready tried what you described with no effect so I saved all what is important to my small 4 gig usb stick and am currently re-installing my drivers after reinstalling windows. Thanks for trying to help, you dont know how much I appreciate that but anyways, since I whiped my hdd and set windows up again... this is goodbye.

But seariusly now, thank you for taking the time to help me and have a wonderful day,
