    BSOD Attila and Rome TW

    Hi All,

Before I begin, I'm very poor at Computer specs and obviously these will need to be posted before anyone can help if anyone can advise what I need to post and where I can find these. (I think I've attached a dmp file but it's zipped, unsure if that format is ok?)

I have downloaded Rome 2 and Attila TW via Steam and have had terrible issues with the campaign and battle BSOD crash. Sometimes it crashes after 5 mins, sometimes after 25. It's really disappointing as I bought a PC with specifications to play this game and it seems like it's been a waste.

I've updated drivers, messed around with suggested workarounds to no avail. I know many people have issues with these games. Please can someone assist!

    Hi bcfcbenny11,

    Welcome to the 7forums.

The crash is a 0x116(VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE) which is related to the GPU.

Please uninstall everything of AMD using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from AMD

    Hi

Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a try and let you know. Apologies my first message was so vague, I'm a real novice with PC's!

In the meantime these are my specs

    ADMI

No, Nvidia drivers are for Nvidia products only, AMD drivers are for AMD products only.

Most likely, the drivers won't install if you attempt to do it.

Ah ok I misread your post. So I've uninstalled the AMD drivers using the program, shall I install again the newest ones on their site

    Hello - update

Followed the steps and installed latest drivers and was able to play without a crash - including in a battle which also causes crashes all the time!

Only played 30 mins or so but fingers crossed...

Thanks for the tips, really hope it works now
