    BSOD, Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error, error 0x0000007A, parameter 2 c0000185

    Hi,

My Dell Latitude E6410 notebook started to give frequent BSOD errors since last weekend.
First one came after I tried to copy some folders into flash drive, I guess it was on 25th October.
After that OS started to freeze after starting.
I cleaned and fixed some registries using JV16 and Spybot tools. Now the OS starts without freezing, but still getting BSOD form time to time, mainly when copying files.

    Files are attached.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Khachatur

    Hi xtorch,

    Welcome to the 7forums.

The 0x7A errors is one I have only seen with Input/Output errors, also this time.
This means that there are problems with reading the data from your hard drive.
To confirm the hard drive has problems, please run chkdsk and SeaTools and perform the short generic, long generic and SMART tests perfered in that order in SeaTools. If wanted you could always perform the other tests too in SeaTools.

    Diagnostics Test

     HDD TEST

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use

       Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

    Run chkdsk Disk Check
    Code:
    KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)
The requested page of kernel data could not be read in. Typically caused by
a bad block in the paging file or disk controller error. Also see
    KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR.
If the error status is 0xC000000E, 0xC000009C, 0xC000009D or 0xC0000185,
it means the disk subsystem has experienced a failure.
If the error status is 0xC000009A, then it means the request failed because
a filesystem failed to make forward progress.
    Arguments:
Arg1: fffff6fc4000a928, lock type that was held (value 1,2,3, or PTE address)
Arg2: ffffffffc0000185, error status (normally i/o status code)
Arg3: 00000000aee59860, current process (virtual address for lock type 3, or PTE)
Arg4: fffff8800152511c, virtual address that could not be in-paged (or PTE contents if arg1 is a PTE address)

    Debugging Details:
    ------------------

    ERROR_CODE: (NTSTATUS) 0xc0000185 - The I/O device reported an I/O error.

DISK_HARDWARE_ERROR: There was error with disk hardware

    BUGCHECK_STR: 0x7a_c0000185

    CUSTOMER_CRASH_COUNT: 1

    DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: CODE_CORRUPTION
       Note
Please run the DM Log Collector tool again and upload the zip file, there are quite some important files missing

It means your hard drive is failing/faulty.

If you have warranty, let your manufacturer replace the hard drive.
Else, you still need to contact your manufacturer for the hard drive replacement.
