Please reinstall your GPU drivers as suggested, to rule them out.

Do you get a crash when you're not playing any game for a few days?
okay, By the way my friend suggested i maybe try downloading an older driver for the 550 ti. should i do that or should i just reinstall the latest one?

and it's usually after i open a game or furmark. i never really get the first crash of the day unless i do open a game

I hope it doesn't really matter what version you install, but at least use DDU for a clean install of the drivers.

Do you have a setting for your GPU and/or CPU that is something like multicore rendering?

Weird, i went into the control panel and i think i almost bluescreened and then a message popped up saying nvidia driver 358 or something stopped working. and then it recovered. my monitor went black for a few seconds

That would have been a 0x116(VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE) if it BSOD'd.

This is what it says in event viewer. if it means nothing, i'll get back to you in a few hours. i've disabled multicore rendering, and i'm about to reinstall the video driver. sorry this is taking so long man.

Hey axe, i've left my computer on sleep mode for the past 3 days. haven't turned it off once, and i've experienced no blue screens whatsoever(been playing games too).
