Yep, you ran MemTest86.
I was already surprised why you completed memtest in such a short time, normally with 16GB it takes around 16-20 hours.
It is a long time, that is why it is recommended to start overnight. With 8GB it should finish if you sleep around 8h, so with your memory it should be at 50% when you run it overnight, sleep 8-10h and wake up.
Ah OK so there is a difference. Silly me. I'll get that test running tonight then :)
Hey axe, I've been having quite a bit of difficulty getting the MemTest86+ to boot from my PC.
I ran the auto installer to USB and everything seems to have installed correctly. However, I can't get the program to boot.
The only way I can get the USB to show in the "Boot Device Priority" page is to have it ordered at number 1 in the "Hard Disk Drives" page. The problem is, when I then set the priority to 1 after, I get the error that no OS is found on the system when trying to start up.
Any suggestions?
Please do NOT change the boot order, that is what you are trying and that gives you the problem.
The USB doesn't contain boot files, booting from it through the boot order won't work.
You need to press the key that gives you the boot options and from there choose to boot from the USB.
This boot option is a 1 time thing, no need to change the boot order.
Hey man thanks for the advice. You'll have to excuse my ignorance on this topic as I'm not quite following you.
After a little research I found that the F8 key took me to the Boot Option. However it looked like this and no sign of the USB.
If there is anything not clear to you, please tell me. It is better you know what you're doing then following some suggestions you have no idea about what or why you're doing it.
Please format the USB and install MemTest86+ again, the USB should be recognized in the boot options.
Phew... The test has started. For some reason it didn't like that USB stick (even after reformatting it) so I installed it on another USB and works perfectly.

Great, MemTest stopped after 2 passes and I can't find any configuration to make it go further. I've been looking everywhere online and the only way it seems you can change it is by using the "pro version" and editing the .cfg file. I have the option to change the test selection between 1-11 but I don't think that's the same thing.
