BSOD on fresh instal. Prob. hardware issue.

    Hello,

A while back i posted a thread for help, unfortunately i cleaned the computer before hand with cc cleaner, so all logs where gone. BSOD occured randomly while using the computer. Only browsing etc, no gaming or heavy programs.

Because of deleting all the logs i decided to update all drivers, clean the pc and try again. (The computer is not mine, parents in law. They only use it for internet.)

They told me it was still getting BSOD, so i decided to give it a fresh install.

I installed an MSDN version of Windows 7 Professional with a legal key. The computer ran without any problems, updating drivers untilll suddenly a BSOD occured. The fresh installation was only 10 hours old, with a total use of maybe 2 hours.

I now installed a 86x OS, before the clean install it ran a 64x OS of Windows 7. It only has 3GB of memory.

Anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? I think it hassomething to do with the hardware.

    Thank you in advance!

I tried running the intel tool for updating drivers but it says all drivers are up to date. Could it have anything to do with the system was initially a 64x Vista and now a 86x Windows 7?

Tried downloading the drivers manually. But the website also shows there are no drivers.

I think it means that the driver isn't compatible with Windows 7.

But in that case when i visit the intel website, there should be a download link for vista? It gives me no download link at all...

I would find it very strange if a Acer Aspire x1700 would not support Win 7.

I could try installing a win vista because that is the original OS. But it seems the BSOD occurs more and more with age of the OS installation. After installation nothing gets installed again, my parents in law only use a user account without installation permissions.

Well, have you tried to look for the drivers in Acer's website?

I downloaded and installed drivers from the acer website, titled: Chipset_Nvidia_nForce_MCP73_4.63_Vistax86

Vista x86 should be compatible with 7 x86. However in the list of drivers there wasnt any cpu drivers or what so ever. Nvidia Grhapics only. Havent got any BSOD since, but the BSOD doesnt occur that often after a fresh install.

Maybe i just need to try it for a couple of weeks if the BSOD occurs or not.

Laith, I apologize for bumping in threads a lot lately but also this time I would like to add something.

The CPU driver isn't flagged, I don't know how long Intel supports CPU's but my research showed that this CPU is some years old on the market.
What Laith showed was nothing more then the CPU driver being related to the crash.
The date of the CPU driver is 2009,
    Code:
    1: kd> lmvm intelppm
    start end module name
    8f6c8000 8f6da000 intelppm (deferred)

I noticed some NETIO.sys and tcpip.sys which are network drivers.
This means that the network drivers are involved and/or other drivers that are trying to access the internet.
    Code:
    807de00c 8a8af521 tcpip!IndicateDropAudit+0x5a
    807de010 807de4b0
    807de014 807de030
    807de018 8a74b6f8 NETIO!MatchCondition+0x51
More important is drivers older then Windows 7 release date
    Code:
    nvm62x32 Fri Oct 17 23:00:39 2008 (48f8fcf7) nvm62x32.sys
This is the Nvidia ethernet (LAN) driver, it is strongly recommended to update this driver a.s.a.p.
