BSOD when trying to launch NBA 2k16, error 0x0000003b

I was playing nba 2k16 for almost 2 weeks with no problem. However, just last night, i experienced BSOD right after double-clicking the exe file of nba 2k16

no BSOD when running other games, GTA V, Call of Duty, and outlast

tried the following but to no avail:
    1. I have already uninstalled any possible new software (before bsod) from my laptop (gaming mouse driver, new game-Call of duty) but still getting the error

    2. CLEAN installation of the UPDATED nvidia driver (used DriverSweeper and display Driver Uninstaller)

    3. installed hotfix from microsoft

    Please help. Thanks in advance!

You are running an Acer Product ID (PID) on an ASUS board.
    This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
    Code:
    OS Version: 6.1.7600 N/A Build 7600
    OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
    OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation
    OS Build Type: Multiprocessor Free
    Registered Owner: Kean
    Registered Organization:
Product ID: 00426-OEM-8992662-00006 <-- Acer PID on ASUS Board
Original Install Date: 9/10/2011, 4:36:18 PM
System Boot Time: 12/26/2015, 11:37:23 PM
    System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

You are also behind with your system, running 7600 while others are running 7601 (service pack 1 installed)

Hi Stitch01 and welcome to sevenforums, I hope you'll enjoy your stay here!

I've looked through the dump files created after the BSOD's and all point to graphics card and direct-x issues.

So I would recommend redoing the uninstalling of the graphics drivers.

And check your current direct-x version:
Click windows start button -> type dxdiag -> hit enter -> take & upload screenshot here!

    Cheers and hope this helps!

No support may be given until the OP proves that the installation is genuine!
