BSOD/Freezes at Starting Windows screen

Hi, I've been encountering constant freezes and BSODs when Windows is loading, the freezes require a hard reboot while the BSODs are caused by an "Uncorrectable Hardware Error".

This all started in December, but the problem could be fixed with a single reset so I didn't pay much attention to it.

Nowadays it's very rare for the system to get past the Windows screen and reach the desktop where it is at risk of freezing anywhere from immediately after login to an hour after login. Once it gets past the hour mark freezes no longer occur and the system will perform normally until shutdown when the problem arises next boot.

I've tried re-seating hardware components, running chkdsk, selecting optimised defaults via the BIOS, none to any avail. I should also mention the freezes can occur in any Windows mode such as booting into safe mode, recovery mode, etc.

Below I have attached the output of the SF diagnostic tool, any feedback as to tracing where the problem lies would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello Bed and welcome to 7forums!

BCCode: 124 is a Hardware Failure though software such as BIOS, low level chipset drivers, drivers, and even security programs can cause it.

I've tried to look at the internet for drivers for your desktop but there doesn't seem to exist any so I'm unsure which path to take, I'll need to sleep on this.

Cheerio, Boris

Would you by any chance have a serial number or make and model for your desktop?

My system is an AcerPower F6.

I updated my system specifications on my profile so anything more specific about my system should be there.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
I usually go by the snid on the case tag but here's what I see only for Vista 32 bit seems :/

Yes the system originally had XP loaded on it up until I upgraded to Win 7, it would figure there aren't any drivers for it

I went ahead and used my SNID and S/N to check for any drivers on the site regardless, but it doesn't even recognise them as being valid codes which I'd attribute to my desktop's age.

I'm not sure if you'd be able to tell from the information I provided, but would you happen to know the type of drivers which are causing the bluescreen? If not then it's probably best I move towards getting a more modern system anyways.

My two cents worth mate try running this
Using HW Info
PART A:
You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download < download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts are doing see my pic. In my pic the section (Nuvoton) with VBATT is a dead give away you are in the section for the rail voltages. There are other section titles and one that pops up often is ITE
Now the voltage on the different rails have to be within 5% =+/- of what is required or the machine will not work properly if at all.
See this for the rail voltage info
Power Supply 101: A Reference Of Specifications - Power Supplies (Section 2.)
The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel
FOR OTHER COMPONENTS
PART B:
Open each small square with + in it on the section the components are in and then click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. See pic for example.
Use PART B: for in depth component detail and I would like to see the PSU readout from PART A: - a highly underrated problem source in my view and also because the machine is a tad on the vintage side.

For the drivers and I don't usually do this but in an emergency try Slim Drivers https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php just a quick tip be careful you only download the Slim Drivers because it will offer add ons - to be avoided.

Edit for your reference the rail voltages should be these
Limits +/-
12v = 11.4 – 12.6v
5v = 4.74 – 5.25v
3.3v = 3.135 – 3.465v
The Power good signal voltage at pin 8 on the 24 pin plug (grey cable) should be the same as the 5v rail reading/s

Hi,
I'm not sure why there isn't a chipset driver listing possibly it's the VGA listing ?
I'm not able to read the logs and identify the problem I was just finding the drivers
Surprised the snid didn't give you anything just because it's old shouldn't matter as you can see the model came up with something :/
