BSOD whenever I plug new monitor in

    Hello,

I purchased an Acer monitor today to use as my second monitor. Whenever I plug the Acer monitor in I get a BSOD right away. I have tried to boot up my PC with just the new monitor plugged in and not my original, and I get the BSOD immidiately after I sign into my PC account. I have tried updating my drivers and restarting many times, no installation CD came with it so I'm not sure if I need to install something for it to work.

Hello Brandon and welcome to 7forums! :)

I would recommend that you download and run this:
    Intel® Driver Update Utility

And also download this driver update for your graphics card:
    Drivers | GeForce

    Cheers, Boris :)

    Hey thanks for the response,

I have installed both of the links above, and still have the same problem. I use an hdmi cable for my main monitor and a VGA cable for this second monitor if that helps you at all. Also when I have the second monitor plugged in the windows sounds is very laggy when I turn my pc on.

EDIT: I have been googling the same problem, and some people say enabling SLI helps. I'm not to sure how to do this but i'm trying to find out. Could this cause the blue screen?
