Service registration is missing or corrupt

I just installed Windows 7 Pro alongside windows 10 yesterday and I've been battling with the update service. At one point I shut down the machine and it "installed" 198 updates and proceeded to roll them all back. The MS windows update diagnostic is never able to fix it and I ran the system file checker with no success. I saw Some have success after updating Intel RST so I did that which didn't help (only updates to 12.x).

install KB971033, then run the MGAdiag tool, see link and post the results

The results of the WGDiag tool are in the screenshot. I presume everything is fine with that as I downloaded this version of windows through my university's Dreamspark license and I did activate it. As for the KB971033, all that does is "Searching for updates on this computer" and so far hasn't popped up with anything. I attempted to delete the cached updates previously following https://www.404techsupport.com/2013/...in-windows-78/ and now I get error 800F0902 in the windows update.

Thanks for your help Roy. I think I captured all of the output in this text file, but I zipped one of the cab files that the WGdiag creates.

    Hi Roy,

I gave that a run and it came back with the green banner saying it is Genuine. I re-ran MGADiag and it cam back with the same error. I clicked "enter a new product key" in the Computer properties and used the same key and it came back saying it was good to go but still no luck... I just got another Activation key through Dreamspark for a debug build of W7 Pro and punched that key in which it accepted so now I'm trying the update check again. Also I tried to redownload that KB971033 and now it runs and says it's already installed on the machine.

    dreamspark

    Hi Zack,
I been lookin dreamspark up and from what little i can gather
Dont you >> have << to download everything via them including the OS, thats why i mentioned the KMS server activation route, as opposed to directly to MS which is what yours is doing
Have a chat with your Dreamspark IT people they should be able to confirm it.
On another note according to wikipedia w7 pro only available on the premium package..

Be intrigued as to what they say keep me updated please.

    Roy
