Hello and welcome Pbrennan first some basic stuff mate before we can even begin
System Info - See Your System Specs
and then do these
Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
&
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions
Edit I mean to mention too it might be better tor try the Vista forum too.
Hi, I cannot perform anything on my PC. everything I TRY LEADS me back to the BSOD.
Now I am suspecting a bad PSU mate or even RAM now one is not easy without measuring the rail volts with a digital multimeter and see how they come up for a reference the volts shuld read as per this
Now the voltage on the different rails have to be within 5% =+/- of what is required or the machine will not work properly if at all.
Limits +/-
12v = 11.4 – 12.6v
5v = 4.74 – 5.25v
3.3v = 3.135 – 3.465v
The Power good signal voltage at pin 8 on the 24 pin plug (grey cable) should be the same as the 5v rail reading/s
See this for the rail voltage info
Power Supply 101: A Reference Of Specifications - Power Supplies (Section 2.) (Part of a small ditty I wrote for using when the machine running. Fot the colour codes of the cables see this
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_...unit_(computer) - scroll down to see them on the 24 pin plug
For the RAM use this but make sure you run it for at least 8 passes unless errors come up straight away then you can stop it. It is the only memtest we recommend and as stated must run for 8 passes or you may as well not bother. RAM - Test with Memtest86+ Just so you know this runs in a non Windows environment so will not be affected by any of it's issues that may be prevalent.
