W7 Ultimate x64 random BSOD's Hello all,
In the last few days I have been getting crashes seemingly at random. So far I have had a few while playing games, and some while just on the internet. I have attempted to determine the cause myself from the dumps, but I have been unable to. Maybe someone who is a little better at it can tell me what is wrong. I think that it may be HDD related, but I did not see anything in the dumps to say that for sure. The only common thing I saw in the dumps was 2 of them pointed towards svchost.exe, and I do have an svchost that is using more memory than the others, but I have been unable to find a problem with it.
I have attached all the minidumps that I have gotten recently, hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction. | My System Specs |

The minidumps all seem to point to different system files meaning that this is probably a driver issue of some sort. One of them mentioned a memory problem.
Maybe try the Gigabyte site for some updated drivers, they have a beta bios available for your board also. I'm downloading the updated audio driver from gigabyte, it was the only one that was an update for me. In the meantime, I have had another bsod, don't know if it will help or not. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Memory 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Platinum PC2-8500 1066 MHZ Graphics Card MSI R4850 512MB Sound Card Audigy 2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Acer 22" PSU Corsair TX Series 80 650W Case Cooler Master Centurion 590 ATX Mid Tower Hard Drives WD 160 GB (Primary)

Hey. Update your wifi adapter driver if possible.
In addition, these drivers could be Googled and checked to see if there are updates for them:
netr7364 netr7364.sys Sun Sep 23 23:08:50 2007
AODDriver AODDriver.sys Mon Oct 13 00:38:55 2008
GVTDrv64 GVTDrv64.sys Tue Sep 05 03:10:02 2006
secdrv secdrv.SYS Wed Sep 13 09:18:38 2006
ctgame ctgame.sys Tue Apr 06 20:42:49 2004
pavboot64 pavboot64.sys Thu Jun 19 11:23:50 2008
jraid jraid.sys Mon Nov 03 21:20:09 2008
After doing the best possible with those, if there is still another bsod, upload the dump file(s) for that.
Run Memtest overnight to test the RAM modules. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

Ok, I updated my wifi adapter drivers, installed all the mobo updates from gigabyte, and updated what I could from that list of drivers. I had another crash while I was playing Fallen Earth, I was alt-tabbed out, listening to music with Winamp and browsing the web and I had another bsod. This was another ntkrnl error, pointing me towards winamp. I uninstalled winamp and reinstalled it, unfortunately it was the same version because there is not a newer one. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Memory 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Platinum PC2-8500 1066 MHZ Graphics Card MSI R4850 512MB Sound Card Audigy 2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Acer 22" PSU Corsair TX Series 80 650W Case Cooler Master Centurion 590 ATX Mid Tower Hard Drives WD 160 GB (Primary)

In addition to running Memtest overnight, you could also scan with Malwarebytes on full system scan after updating it to latest definitions. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

Had 2 more crashes overnight, and ran memtest this morning when I woke up.
Memtest froze at 24% through the first pass. I upped the ram voltage to 2.2 from 1.8 and completed 3 passes of memtest with no errors.
Have not had a crash since then, but I will wait and see.
I'm uploading the 2 crashes from this morning, maybe they'll tell somebody something. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Memory 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Platinum PC2-8500 1066 MHZ Graphics Card MSI R4850 512MB Sound Card Audigy 2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Acer 22" PSU Corsair TX Series 80 650W Case Cooler Master Centurion 590 ATX Mid Tower Hard Drives WD 160 GB (Primary)

So many PCs fixed with proper RAM settings. I think things will be well. Well, everything was good for about a day, but just had another BSOD. Dump pointed to firefox.exe from win32k.sys. The only thing that I changed today was to install ventrilo, so I guess that could have been it. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Memory 4GB (2x2GB) OCZ Platinum PC2-8500 1066 MHZ Graphics Card MSI R4850 512MB Sound Card Audigy 2 ZS Monitor(s) Displays Acer 22" PSU Corsair TX Series 80 650W Case Cooler Master Centurion 590 ATX Mid Tower Hard Drives WD 160 GB (Primary)
