    BSOD playing Counterstrike - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Hi there,

I run Windows 7 64 bit and have been having an issue lately where I get a bluescreen while playing either Counterstrike or Dota2. It is important to add, that I can seemingly use my computer for other purposes without any drama. (be it web browsing, playing Hearthstone or using word/excel etc.)

The Technical Information at the bottom of the blue screen reads as follows:

    *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0000000000000020, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF8000C15F112)

I got fed up with the problem and decided to do a clean install onto my SSD, in hopes that this would fix the problem.

For the first day after install, I was problem free. Not a single blue screen. Since then, I ran my windows updates and continued to go about normal usage.

The next day, however, the problem is back, and just as bad if not more frequent than before!

After reading other threads, I am currently in the process of ensuring my software is up to date. (I downloaded slim drivers free and am working my way through the list)

I would appreciate any more help in identifying and resolving this issue!

    Kind regards,
    Daniel

Please remove these programs and revert back the changes they have mode, this can be done through a system restore point prior the use of the programs.
    Code:
    Start Menu\Programs\SlimCleaner Plus	Public:Start Menu\Programs\SlimCleaner Plus	Public
    Start Menu\Programs\SlimDrivers	Public:Start Menu\Programs\SlimDrivers	Public

    Diagnostics Test

     HDD TEST

Run SeaTools to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
    Run following tests
    1. Short Drive Self Test
    2. Short generic
    3. Long generic

If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.

       Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Run chkdsk
Disk Check - Windows 7 Help Forums

    Run HDTune to
    • scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan
    • check the health,
    • benchmark.

It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    • the error scan,

    • the benchmark incl. following
      • transfer rate,
      • access time,
      • burst rate,

    Diagnostics Test

     System File Check

    Please try following:
    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "sfc/scannow" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again

If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at {windows partition}\Windows\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Okay, I'll start working through these steps and update you when I do.

Do I have to work through them in the order that you posted? And do I do them one at at time and post results after each, or do them all then post results?

There is usually not a specific order, if there is we would let you know :)

How you want to post the results, all at the same time or one at a time, is up to you, how I would do it is described below.

I would apply the suggestions in following order:
    1. Remove the programs and undo the changes they have done
    2. Disconnect the device
    3. Run SFC and post the result (screenshot + log if the message is unrepairable files found)
    4. Run HDD diagnostics tests and post results (screenshots)
    5. AMD driver

Okay, here is an update as to what I have done so far.

I first began the system restore and uninstalled all those SlimCleaner programs as well as any other ones I don't use.

I then used display driver uninstaller and uninstalled all my video card software and got the latest one directly from the website. I should point out that I have an ASUS card*, not AMD, but I made sure to download the correct driver.

I then reinstalled the new driver and restarted. I should point out that while I did use the custom installation option, I was unable to uncheck the box to install the "ATI Catalyst Install Manager." Should I go to add or remove programs, and remove it now?

After this, I disconnected my device and ran the SFC. I ran this once, and then restarted and ran it again. Both times, the result was that no integrity violations were found.

I then proceeded to go about the Seatools integrity test. I again disconnected my device and ran the short drive, short generic and long generic tests, in that order.

Each time, the driver passed over my HDD without any error. (I made sure to run it over my HDD, not SSD)

I am now up to the chkdsk and HDTune steps.

Just to clarify, for these 2 tests, do I run them on my HDD, SSD or both?
(I have windows 7 installed on my SSD)

*My graphics card is an Asus ATI EAH6850 Direct Cu V2 PCI-E 2.1 1GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI D-Sub DP DX11 Fan
&& I have attached screenshots of the not so exciting results for the aforementioned tests.

In the suggestion there is a link that'll guide you through the way of how to install drivers only.

I should point out that I have an ASUS card*, not AMD, but I made sure to download the correct driver.
From what I see in the logs:

Though that it is an ASUS card doesn't matter much regarding the source of the drivers.
The source would be either AMD or the manufacturer.

OK, I have uninstalled my drivers and reinstalled them from the AMD website and I have done so without the use of Catalyst.

What next? Do I run the chkdskand HDTune now for one or both my HDDs?

Chkdsk & HDTune can be used on both SSD and HDD.

    These tests take aaaaages!

I have performed the Chkdsk on both of my harddrives with no errors found.

My SSD passed the HDTune and my HDD is currently 66:27 into the HDTune scan and looks about half done.

What do I do next, (assuming that my HDD passes this test too) ?

Some tests can take a long time yes, depending on the size of the drive and the speed.

To remember you about it :)
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    1. the error scan,
    2. the health,
    3. the benchmark incl. following
    4. transfer rate,
    5. access time,
    6. burst rate,
    7. cpu usage.
If the drives tests are all passed succesful I need you to try to get another BSOD, it is useless to keep suggesting things without new dumps while it may be possible that 1 of the suggestions solved the problem :)
