Win7 Ultimate BSOD - possibly nForce driver issue?

Hi. I'm trying to figure out what is causing my Windows 7 partition to crash to BSOD every few hours. I'm thinking it has nForce driver issues with my Asus P5N-e SLI.

I've included my dxdiag and a zipped folder of my minidumps.

I've noticed that several times it has crashed and given a reference to a networking driver or application.


Any help, greatly appreciated! If it is an nForce driver issue, anyone know of a driver set that works? Or even a bios update? I am reluctant to update the bios, since it was working perfectly well with my XP partition.

I've also noticed that in Windows 7 my video card is somewhat unstable. It doesn't cause BSOD but the driver does fail and the screen freezes for a moment and then comes back. It's only when I'm playing a game with a high resolution (ie Dragon Age: Origins). I'm guessing that this is a separate issue with my Geforce 8800GT - I figure it's not working well with the Win7 drivers and directx 11.

I just tried running my geforce with new drivers in Dragon Age. I was running my Geforce with the latest drivers (195.39) and tried several others. I heard that 182.50 was the most stable for now, so I just tried that and it seems to be running the game ok, but performance isn't as good as with newer drivers...but at least that problem is marginally solved for now.

Oh, it's 64bit 7 BTW.

I see that 1 person is viewing my minidump. I really hope someone is looking at them and will post because I'm at a loss as to what to do now.

I haven't BSOD'd since earlier today, but it's just a matter of time.

do not desperate completely. I have a ASUS A7N8X-X which comes with nForce2 and everything EXECPT the built-in sound card works ok WITH THE VISTA NFORCE PACKAGE!!
try that first.

One or more may be causing issues.

And also update to the latest NVIDIA driver from their website.

Post a new bsod if one happens after doing that.

thanks for the responses. pcouffin.sys belongs to convertxtodvd which I've uninstalled. Maybe it was conflicting since there were 2 versions of the software installed, but I've removed both.

Nvm62x64.sys belongs to the nvidia hardware firewall on my mobo. I'm going to try disabling it in the BIOS and uninstall all of my nvidia software, then reinstall just the ethernet driver and videocard driver.

adfs.sys belongs to adobe drive. I have to figure out what to do with this, but for now I'm going to take care of the other issues and hope this one doesn't act up. If it does BSOD again, I'll uninstall all adobe products minus photoshop.

ASACPI.sys is a driver for asus. Hoping uninstalling everything for my mobo and video card will remove that too.

Thanks guys, I'll let you know how the above all goes. I may feel adventurous and update the bios of my mobo if all this goes well.

Another BSOD. This time 0x3B system_service_exception.

I've uploaded the latest minidump. Any help again would be so greatly appreciated.

Hopefully for the pc's sake, this will be as easy as my guess.

If you either uninstall or update ESET Smart Security (rather uninstall for now, to test and be sure), it will stop the bsod.

I'll uninstall it now. I loaded the minidump in the debugger and saw something called eamon.sys. I don't know if that's what caused the crash and I'm no debugging whizz at all... but it does have to do with eset NOD32 AV.

I'll let you know how it goes.

NOD32 AV uninstalled and all of those drivers uninstalled. I ran a chkdsk as well on all partitions. So far everything running well. Played some Dragon Age: Origins and the video didn't crash. So far, so good.
