Random BSOD while playing WoW

Had just loaded up into game but had to step away for a minute or so, and came back to see a BSOD with the words "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout fail". Thought it was just some unfortunate, random thing and waited for it to restart and Started Windows Normally, only to have it blue screen again with the same words. I then booted up in Safe Mode and here we are. I tried cleaning the graphics card as much as I could, checked the wires and nothing seemed to be loose, I also tried a System Recovery but that did not help either.

Any and all ideas would be fantastic, will be heading to bed now but hope to see some responses in the morning. Thank you ahead of time.

Welcome to the 7forums :)

Please disable the graphics card in device manager and try to boot in normal mode. I need you to update Windows so Windows can install updates that fixes several issues and improves also several things, I cannot say if updating resolves your problem or not but it needs to be done for sure.

I would also suggest to check HP for BIOS updates :)

Please remove these programs, these programs are known for causing issues with Windows.
Specifically, AVG PC TuneUp is known for making systems unbootable, Daemon Tools is known for the unstable drivers it uses that can cause BSODs.

I uninstalled my drivers instead of disabling, not sure if that makes a difference. However, I did manage to avoid the bsod but the initial start up screen did have graphic glitches still. I uninstalled the two programs and am now currently updating Windows. Will post an update after it has completed. Thank you very much for the response.

Well, I tried installing Windows updates but it was stuck at 0% for several hours. So I decided to Google it and a possible "fix" that came up was to stop the Windows Update service and delete everything in C:/Windows/ServiceDistribution and restart the service. After doing this, it is now stuck at Checking for Updates and has been for several hours. Any other ideas before I just reformat? Like always, please and thank you for your response :).

Just wait, Windows Update in Windows 7 is lately incredibly slow, doing things out of a rush is not the right thing to do because you will have to do the WU thing all over again what again takes up several hours.

The updates finally finished, however a very large portion of them apparently failed. Should I try installing them again or try something else. I should note that when the Windows Update screen initially finished, it did say they were all installed correctly. It was not until the restart after configuration that my computer reported being unable to start. I ran startup repair but it said it couldn't fix anything, it then restarted again and loaded fine. I do still have my graphics drivers uninstalled, should I just reinstall them and see if anything was fixed with the few updates that did successfully install and configure, or try again?
